log in problems

After I log in and select my world, I'm getting stuck at the loading screen, and it says loading new game data, and at the bottom Connecting to authentication server, but won't go any further into loading my character screen

Can you post your DXDiag? That has info about your system that might be useful for us to help you.

My gut feeling is that you need to run the game in DirectX 9, which can be done through the DDO launcher by going into the options and resetting the display settings.
