Hello everyone. No... I am not a myth. DWAT is looking to expand its membership. Our recruitment process is simple. get to know us and we will get to know you.
"DWAT started many moons ago as a group of people who enjoyed pugging together. We were "the guild that wasn't a guild."
Eventually the convenience of forming an official guild won out and DWAT was born. We have power gamers, elitists and casual players. We are fairly close knit, and enjoy running together often. We have been active for over five years. Our motto is "Preparation is the mother of good fortune." One genius even came up with "DWAT is not a guild, it is a state of mind."
We are willing to take unseasoned players and beginners providing they have a willingness to learn and are able to adapt. You do not need to be an elite gamer to hang out with us. We have hit every raid and quest in the game and have a healthy raiding "schedule". We do not require attendance at events but do prefer members who enjoy being involved with their guild mates.
One of our longest standing "requirments" for joining DWAT holds as true today as it did nearly five years ago when we first came into being. You must have a thick skin. DWAT was founded in the chaotic days of Xoriat. We have many intelligent people in DWAT that do not always share the exact same opinion. So being able to give and receive criticism, jokes, and feedback is paramount to being able to stay with us for the long term. We do not require you to be of a certain age but maturity (of a sort) is important.
DWAT Spans the US, east to west, north to south, including Alaska and Hawaii. There are people on everyday. We currently run scheduled raids 4 days a week (Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri), although there is the occasional unscheduled "raid fest."
Most members have several capped toons and toons in various stages of being run up.
We do not have an official DKP or raid loot system at this time. We have found that people tend to be more generous when you give them the chance to be generous.
There is no registration form for joining DWAT. We judge people only one way - we play. Find a guild member and run with them, let them know you are interested in joining. They will pass you along to an officer and we will get you an audition. After that, we part ways or you get a probationary membership that lasts as long as we need to make sure you and DWAT are a good fit. The longest probie period on record is two days, shortest is 5 minutes."
