    Default Replacing Quicken

On my Evoker FvS, the main use I have for Quicken is to speed up the casting of Blade Barriers. That is not needed as much anymore, as the new casting speed is fine by itself. And since I have around 50 Concentration (the Ornamental dagger helps with this) along with the 10 DR I very seldom get interupted.

Of course it is still handy (especially if you kite in ToD part 2, or if you play a melee FvS who takes bigger hits than an Evoker) but I have hardly used it in Update 9 at all. So now I'm thinking of switching out Quicken for something else. Anyone else thought the same?

Well. Quicken on a cleric (or fs) are used for more purposes than just blade barrier for me. It's used to become completely and utterly immortal (through SP potions).
It will work without it, for sure, but there might be a situations where you'd have made it with quicken, but not without.

I will never replace quicken on my cleric / fs, simply because how every encounter becomes bypassable no matter how difficult, as long as you've got quicken and SP potions.

FSs get a lot of spare feats anyways, there's really nothing that extra feat could give that would be better. Imo.

Dont forget Mass Heal. Also 50 concentration isnt enough even with 10DR if you do epics, or a caster hit you with a spell. But even if you dont do epics, there are mobs out there who can hit for 50+ on elite.

Yeah, humm. You both make good points.

I don't have any other feat that is waiting impatiently in the wings to replace Quicken either. It would likely be SF:Necro or Greater Spell Pen, but none of those I feel I really need. And maybe I would miss Quicken more if I didn't have it, than I use it when I do have it, if you know what I mean. It has become much more situational for me, but maybe not less important when really needed.

I'm with A_O ... Quicken means never needing that concentration check. I tend to play knowing quicken is on and while I could back-off my person aggression meter, it'd take a while to play without the safety net. Torc, ConOp and DR means I don't mind being hit - quicken makes sure I can still function.

All my casters take quicken at the first level (some, like FvS, at 3 or 6, but never later than that)...I turn it on and it stays that way FOREVER!

I can't imagine playing without it.
    Done.

What would u get so precious to drop quicken?
Yes u may survive without it but it is not useless as extended after update 9.
I immediately replaced extended with empower heal the same days of update and thought the same thing u thought about quicken.
    Then I said to me:

I really want to waste 3-4 seconds casting mass-heal, implosion and whatever else? NO.
I really want to make a concentration check for each spell I'll cast if I get a hit? NO
Is the cost of 10 sp so high to make me wonder how I could play if I've answered yes to my previous questions? NO
Assuming I really really really would like to drop it... what would I pick in change so usefull?

moral of the story: Give a big hug to quicken and ask him to forgive u for what u thought XD
