When DR stacks, you'll see it as a higher DR on your character sheet. If you have multiple lines such as DR 5/Chaotic, DR 3/Lawful, DR 1/-, then they don't stack and only the highest applies, unless that one is broken, the the next one applies.

In the above case, if you were getting hit by Lailat, who can do chaotic damage, then you would stop 3 damage each hit.

The latter. Passive DR such as class abilities, buffs like Stoneskin, or items like adamantine armor don't stack; the only exception AFAIK is WF DR (from feats & enhs) will stack with FvS LoB capstone DR (but not other FvS capstones). Active DR (i.e. holding down the Block button) does stack on top of whatever is your highest applicable passive DR.
