    Default update the vendors

the vendors in the game are terribly outdated... i havent given this much thought yet so theres probably more examples of why the vendors should be updated but personally its the scroll vendors thats bothering me.

its ridiculous that wizards can not buy new spells of the vendors. only way for me to get a hold of some spells is to buy a scroll of the auctioneer for 1.5 million plat, tr or run random low level quests and hope it drops.
i like the idea of some scrolls being exclusive and rare but you can always pick those when u level up and releasing new spells means that every single lvl 20 wizard on the server will want a scroll which will drive the prices sky high.

on the other hand the favoured souls and sorceres get to change all their spells for free... if u want to add some flavor to the game by making wizards work hard to earn their spells then at least sorcs and favoured souls should have to wait for 3 days between each spell change or the same reason.

putting the scroll in a vendor temporarily for a few weeks might be a soloution but i can see that being a problem since some people would buy a huge stock of them and then sell them on the ah or something...

putting a scroll in each lvl 20 wizards inventory could work too but that would definitly take away the "flavour" of it. but hey, they did it for sorcs and fvs so why not do it for wizards too

anyways, what im suggesting is that it could be a great idea to do an overall update (adding things that would be usefull and remove things that would be considered abusive or overpowered) on vendors in general and that would include adding/removing scrolls from the scroll vendor.

Sorcerors do need to wait a long time after changing one spell before they can change another one. Only exception is that new item Blood of Dragons. And giving every sorc two of those was fair, since spell system got a major overhaul, and players should be able to prepare to those changes. Moreover, sorceror changes spell temporarily, meaning, if he needs to change it back, it would cost him both time and plat, while wizard learns spells permanently. Compare getting those 3 new spells (that wizards somehow lived without so far) later, with being totally unprepared to new SP costs. You're moaning over spilt drink during an earthquake.

Spells that were not included in vendor list are mostly the spells that would be gamebreaking when mass cast from scrolls. And if wizard is eager to learn new spells, he shall be prepared to pay the price. Hopefuly, AH prices will lower when more of those now expensive scolls hit the market.

while I'm all for upgrading vendors and adding some reasonable "plat sink" among them, just adding every scroll in the game to vendor list seems unfair to all those who learned those spells "the hard way". Also, some scrolls were excluded on purpose.

wow, it feels like ur making a bigger deal out of this than i intended, i dont mind the sorcs and fvs getting to swap spells for free. i enjoyed it on my fvs. i just thought it was a fairly similar thing.

as i also said in my post, i think its cool to have exclusive and hard to get spells but its still kinda lame that i would have to wait a month or more for the prices to stabilize in order to get the spell.

no new spells have been added to the vendors during the two years i have played and i highly doubt many of them would be "game breaking" if they were possible to buy in vendors.

i also realized i forgot to say that my suggestion was not to add every scroll to the vendors, im just saying that doing an overall update (adding things that would be usefull and remove things that would be considered abusive or overpowered) on vendors in general would be pretty nice and that would include adding/removing scrolls from the scroll vendor. ill add this to my original post

Again, Sorcerors DO NOT swap spells for free. It cost me 29K plat to swap a top level spell. And we can only swap one every three days.
Agorth Brutalum: L20 TWF Dwarf Barbarian, Shinkura: L14 WF Sorceror (3rd life), Wisspering Willow: : L19 Rogue - assassin, Arisiana: L9 Pally (2nd life). Metalika: L20 Tempest Ranger Gurddy: Level 18 TWF Dward Barbarian It's all about fun, isn't it?

Do scrolls of the new spells drop in chests? Haven't seen any in the AH.
My wiz is 20 so no chance to get em by leveling.

They do indeed; personally I have looted Acid Fog, Niac's Biting Cold, and Eladrin's Electric Loot.

I also pulled a Gust of Wind scroll today in Palamak's chest, so that is finally fixed.

Blood of Dragons is also not "free".

Two free for existing casters? Yes. A small token to denote that the Devs made sweeping changes to how spells worked. A Fire/Ice Sorc couldn't become a Savant, Post-U9, without having the issue of half their spells (the fire based ones) suddenly doing not just less damage, but ridiculously less damage. Other spells also needed a'changing.

So, for two hours *some time*, Sorcs can finally get the chance to "play Wizard" for a couple, and fix what U9 broke. After that? They either have to loot them (from chests, just like scrolls), get them as a Favor Reward (a reward list which also contains other tasty stuff, such as a Flawless Shard), or buy them via TP from the DDO store.

Anything "given" to the Sorcerer is temporary, fleeting. A Scroll given to a Wizard is forever.

People on Lammania found these scrolls less than a week after Lammania went live with U9. Getting these scrolls is just. not. that. hard. Loot moar, earn moar

I still need that one. Since my Tempest also needs a bloodstone, I have even more reason to ransack that chest.
