Want to cash in on DDO's free may items? Some tips...

Edit: Unfortunately, the title needs to be changed to, "Want to cash in on DDO's 1-point may items? Some tips...", since the items are no longer free.

Some of you may be eager to cash in on DDO"s "1-point items every day in May!" offer, and some of you may be wondering about a few things. To save you time(And possibly frustration), here are a few tips for cashing in on your coupon!

• Most offers are just good for one use only. If it is not, it will be listed in the twitter post(Thanks QuarterMasterM)
• Don't forget to paste or type the code into the coupon box once you've added the item to your cart and ready to checkout!
• Do pay attention to what the offer tells you: For example, if the offer is 3X travelers tokens, it is referring to the 3 pack of travelers tokens. If you can't find it, try hitting "Show All Items" so that it says yes. Do be warned: Your character may not be able to use the item properly!
• You need 1 Turbine point to buy the product. ONE. UNO. You can very easily get points if you put enough effort into it.
• All coupons used are per account, not character.
• You can both get the 1-point item and buy more all in one transaction.
• You DO NOT need to have a twitter account in order to view the coupon code. Just simply go to http://twitter.com/#!/DDOStore and find whatever offer you missed.
• Offer is good for one day only, unless stated otherwise.
• You cannot get 10 of the items in your cart, then use the coupon to get them all for one-point.(Unless stated otherwise)
• When in doubt of the item's bindness, just buy only for the character you want the items to be on.
• I believe you will have to use the link above or this link to find out the latest coupon code, I do not feel like keeping this updated every day.
• Posting the coupon code is not a violation of the rules.(Thanks QuarterMasterM)
• I already redeemed my item, and I quite like it considering that its just one-point.

Some of the free offers will be more than 1 item per account. We'll call this out the amount of uses on twitter. However this will usually mean you will need to use the coupon X times rather than change the quantity being purchased.

Reposting the code is fine.

There is a bug that will prevent you from redeeming the free item if you have fewer Turbine Points in your wallet than the base cost of the item. There is no current workaround aside from acquiring more Turbine Points.

Ugh,thats why it did not work for me. I only got 20 Tp cuzz i spent it all on the packs and a heart of wood. Kinda lame, In order for me to cash in on any free stuff i gotta put more money in my account. !!!! You guys shud fix this!!

Easy workaround. Start an alt and run an hour of Korthos for your first Favor TP reward. And while you're down there recruit a couple newbs into your guild, give them a piece of +1 gear you've got tying up space, and reap even better rewards down the road

That'll get a whopping 25 DDO points. badbob is right, any premium types such as myself who spent all their DDO points recently (like on the new pack) are kinda getting shafted on this. I realize it's not on purpose but I hope turbine looks into this bug quickly.

Just to be sure expectations are appropriately set: This issue will not be fixed during the time of the free item giveaway. Store updates are done differently from game updates, and generally can't be hotfixed in the same way or with the same speed.

10 Light sp potions - meh .. might as well pick up the archane necklace. 2x clicky.
5 haste potions - really? I mean at least a stack of 100 for something that is buyable through in game funds.

Hi Musouka,

Players are redeeming the coupon successfully, so they do exist.

Make sure you have view all items set to yes, as it is possible that the character you are using is unable to see the scrolls due to class filtering.

Let me know if it continues to be an issue.

I never heard of class filtering before.

I tried to get Mass Aid Scroll yesterday, and could not find it in DDO Store. The only scrolls available were Mass Camouflage and Mass something else. I am fairly sure I was on my Ranger character -- is that why?

The other bug that seems to be happening with this free DDO store stuff is that the store wont open for some of us.

I click on the store button in game and basically get a blank screen. I have reported the bug and yet the store is still blank for all of my characters. Not much fun for me with this bug going on. Yes I did the log out and in, the quit and log completely back in, the change characters to see if that works, and still no store.


It is also good to know we have to have available turbine points to "buy" the items with. Kinda lame but at least I know.

You can purchase these sort of consumables without meeting the requirements. It just won't show them to you by default unless you meet them.

Worst deal so far, airship beacon for 1 instead of 10. If it had been the x5 airship beacons, that would have been worth doing.

From now on will be 1 TP and not 0 TP. I guess this is beacues of the people that do not have enough TP to buy the itesm, cannot apply the coupon. Now they can. I guess.
