    The damage-vs-drain/penalty point is key.

Damage continues to build. In theory you could do hundreds of points of "damage" to an attribute, just like you can do more and more damage to HP. Penalties do not build - only the largest value from a given source is valid. If you hit it 3 x with ray of enfeeblement, it's penalty is whatever your "biggest" ray of enfeeblement happens to be.

Helpless isn't auto crit like it used to be, but it's still very useful. There are plenty of times on my Pale Master I wish I had just one more source for a penalty in order to make some red/orange more manageable ... so much so that I'm considering a LR/TR to fit in the proficiency (and maybe even precision, no lie). As it is, I carry a +5 STR sapping stick of some sort and a STR-sapping returner.

    ....

I would totally love to see more named d-axes though.

I just recently found out using that axe and epic infested armor then just running straight in an echrono ive done some nasty stat damages. I had a really good roll streak because that thing was going crazy on them procing. I belive I may of encaped one where the devil became stuned? Idk ive never used stat damagers in epics or otherwise till I got bored. I thinks its helped alot with necros wailing and FoD because of the amount. Deffinltly worth trying out on epic trash for sure. Its got dr 5 good blue slot, 25 spell reistance and greater disease guard 2d12 everytime im struck or save 28 fortitude. I think I should try bringing a caster with slightly lower dcs sometime and test it out. I am deffintly getting two disenguards >.

I sometimes use this with my cleric. It's a decent debuffer that also heals me every now and again for 100hp. It's also very easy to acquire.
