Default Healer Gear for a Bard

My 18/2 warchanter split is almost capped, and I am wondering: What can I do in order to enhance his healing abilities as a backup healer?

I did take Quicken and Empower Healing as Feats, and I maxed the scroll and wand mastery.

Which items should be used to enhance his healing abilites further?

I already picked up the Gauntlets of Eternity, which can easily be switched in.
Which other items provide useful effects stacking with the gauntlets? I know Amara's belt provides a nice clickie, but will it stack?

Any bard necklace from Shavarath, Maximize feat (warchanter set gives bonus to that for some reason).

first of its keey to reember that your spells only go up to level 6

so and devotion 6 clicky with work

i have a spell singing bard

the archmage set would be nice to replace your gloves with crits on bother sonic and healing spells I also have the war chanters set for maximise reduction as maximise tends to be more efficient than empower healing and works on sonic spells

I have an epic rapier from house d that regens my songs I'm aiming for for the a full echrono set for the addition to dc

i have an dusk heard for fasle life and and epic armour with +6 con on and i cant remeber the rest chekc out bardy on my ddo

I saved the feat swap exactly for the occasion that I made the wrong choice.

Why is one a better choice than the other?

    Meh...

for a warchanter, you need sup potency (WC tod set), maximize, quicken optionally (I always take it though), bauble is nice for some xtra sp as your sp pool will be quite smaller then on spellsinger let's say.

    and heal scrolls!

keep in mind that as a warchanter, your main role are buffs via songs/some spells and DPS, and NOT healing. Sure it's nice to throw some heals around if **** hits the fan, and that's where maximize and quicken kicks in - fast massive heals!

p.s. maximize over empower healing on warchanter anytime! it costs more sp but boosts your healing spells for a larger amount + affects your spells as well - maximized greater shout let's say is preety nice...

Personally, I prefer Maximise because you make your comparatively 'weak' heals stronger - and I want to keep people up, not save SP (I can always drink a pot, etc). You certainly notice that maximise has more 'bang'.

Currently I have both maximise and empower healing - I heal without two many SP issues (on a high cha SP spellsinger). However, I'm not sure I'll keep emp. heal.

As a 'backup' healer, either feat will probably do. But why settle for being a 'back up'. With some investment you could probably feel comfortable as a main healer in a lot of content.

In answer to your original question, you want a healing lore item, a superior ardor clickie, and SP items (the base and elemental), and maybe a sp efficiency item (like gloves of the glacier does for maximise).

My splashed WC has the Maximise feat for bigger cures.

    MCMW now costs 25sp
With emp healing it costs 35sp and heals 50% more
Max MCMW costs 50sp for double the base.

So emp healing is now slightly more sp efficient than the other alternatives. However when sp healing from a bard is required the size of the cure generally matters more than the sp cost.

Regarding gear, I use superior Ardor 6 clickies (for +75% extra oomph) and Eternity guantlets for increasing the heal size. Bauble comes in very handy for stretching the blue bar in a pinch.

But I think the biggest impact on my viablity as a backup healer was looting a Torc. Since my main role (after buffing) is melee dps, I do expect to get hit quite often so lots of proc chances. I'm now working on a Con-op item to complement that.

When soloing or other BYOH moments I find that a combo of vampiric + bodyfeader weapons keeps the red bar up almost by itself, such that sp-healing is only needed for some red-names.

Sounds like you are in good shape.

    Roughly:
    - Sup Potency 6
    - Crit chance (Guantlets of Eternity)
    - Sup Aldor Clickys
    - Spell Regen options - Bauble, SS ring (your sp is usually the issue)
    - Maximize Reducing SP cost (ornamental dagger clicky, WC toD set, etc)
    - Heal Scrolls and Mass Cure Scrolls (they heal for less but don't use SP so can be helpful in a lot of situations)

    - An APs you can spare to heals (40% devotion, Scroll mastery 4, Crit chance and crit ammount) Scroll mastery is #1 IMO, Devotion #2, and crit chance #3. I really like full crit chance to give 18% chance to crit with items. Some like to ignore the crit chance and spend points in other spots.

If you know the fight the 20 second free maximise is awesome. I've solo healed some epics before and that has been a really helpful. Same with the aldor clickies. Nice to have a sup pot 6 to fall back on in case they wear off.
