I was referring to Final Fantasy 7, especially to pictures like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zMysOmNatD...i_pc_cover.jpg

Ugh... I left WoW because of the trend of oversized and overdone models. Hope this doesn't become a trend.

I feel a need to quote myself from another thread, because while it IS stupidly huge, it's from Xoriat, so being a little out there is not too bad, and there ARE some stupidly large swords out there in real life (note the first pic fits this thread nicely. Huge sword, small person )

I'd like to see a screeny with a different race too.

Another comment. While this is pretty ridiculous, there were some pretty stupidly large swords in real life as well. Check out the claymore, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claymore

And I think there were even bigger swords out there

    Doing a quick google search.

Ok, lets put this in perspective. I am a machinist by trade and work with all types of metals day in and day out. In all honesty a sword of this size would be close to impossibe to weild due to the weight and balance. Yes we can say that magic is used to solve these issues. Most of the oversized RL weapons shown are simply for display purposes. Now if you could show me video of people swinging these monsters in actual combat for hours at a time I might become a beleiver.

I don't know much about swords but I saw somewhere that Japanese sword were made of both steel and carbon(steel for the edge but in the layer beneath it and the blunt end or the full end were from carbon) nd I don't know how heavy is carbon but I think it's light enough for a huge sword
