    Default Solo focused divine class.

Hey awesome gods of character design, I have a little request. I have recently taken a somewhat lengthy break from DDO but am currently in the midst of returning and would like to start a new character. My favourite classes have always been FvS and (battle) clerics. With the release of update 9 I have been trawling the forums for a build that suites my need and many of the popular ones are, self-acknowledgingly, out of date. I have very few requirements but I will make them clear below:

    - Melee focused (Non negotiable. I love playing melee classes in other MMOs and this is no different)
    - I plan to do very little group content so while either a battle cleric or a FvS can easily be built with group content in mind, this does not need to be included in any builds but is a bonus.
    - Race does not matter to be in the slightest and neither does the specific class makeup but it does need to be based around a divine caster due to personal preference and nothing more.

Any links to an existing build would be appreciating that are still working well since the last patch or a general idea of how to adapt an existing build would be most appreciated. I do not expect anyone to create a new build just for me but after reading many of the popular cleric/FvS builds, I am at a loss as what to go with.

Edit: While I put this thread under the classification of "Favoured Soul", this is by no means a limitation. A cleric would work just as well for me if deemed better.
Edit 2: I have nothing prepared for this character and very little in reserve. I have never been one to turn down a challenge but my lack of resources may or may not be a factor. I don't know just thought it may hold some weight on the subject.

Here’s a rough draft I’ve been working on for something like what you are describing:
    http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=35

Some more inspiration from someone who is also solo focused: (read all the way through, he changes the build to get RS II in a later post)
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=257190

Also, a friend of mine really enjoyed the build he used to get the
cleric past life. It was a 3/6/11 monk/ranger/cleric horc
(not sure about the exact build breakdown, PM samiusbot for details)

My design isn’t built and tested, but the other two guys are quite capable
of soloing pretty much any quest and a lot of raids with their builds.

If you’re looking for something simple and would like to group more than
you’ve let on by your initial post, then this would be a solid choice:

The grouping thing was pretty much the truth. I cannot commit to long play sessions (Not to say I dont get to play for extended periods of time but I cannot determine when or where I'll need to drop out quickly (young ones, you know )) and being a new player in this respect (Ok, I know what i'm doing to some extent but alot of it is trial and error, especially at the upper levels) I am not expecting something that can solo absolutly anything with a wave of the finger but I am willing to put in the time and energy over a longer period of time to make something work, even if its not advised for new players. Occasionally I can commit to longer play sessions and as such the grouping thing would be a bonus but really not a requirement if I give up all of my grouping ability to gain some standing in solo play.

That said I did look at the soul survivor but it seemed like it was based around tanking for a portion of the build (at least that's the way I read it) and that simply would not be needed. If I were to join a group it would be as either a healer or as a general support/dps role.

The other 2 builds you posted do interest me. It's getting late now so i'll give them a better look over tomorrow. I do not want to rush into picking a class right this second and then only regret it once i've invested time into it. There is probably a great build out there for me but the search function on this forum brings up the most bizarre things sometimes!
