Default I have a stupid question about divine punishment...

If it lasts 15-16 seconds, and has an 8-second cooldown...

How can it stack 3 times?

When you cast it again the timer resets.

Try it out on a big HP monster with the new examine window open and it will make a lot more sense.

    Multiple casters, for one.

It refreshes its timer when reapplied. So you can cast it, do something for the 10 second cooldown, hit it again, kill another 10 seconds, then applied a third time for the most damage you will see from the spell.

    Not exactly.

Multiple casters can stack ANY DoT effect now. This isn't the same thing.

    :00 Cast Divine Punishment - Timer :16
    :10 Cooldown Expires - Timer:6
    :14 Cast Divine Punishment - Timer:16, Damage x2
    :24 Cooldown Expires - Timer: 6
    :28 Cast Divine Punishment - Timer: 16, Damage x3

Further castings will stay at x3 damage, and just keep refreshing the timer.

If you have a party of 6 Divines, you could have x18 damage running. Although only a raid boss or Crateos would survive that for very long.

It's a bit fun since you have to watch the timer to hit the boss in the last 5 seconds. Breaks up the monotony of watching red bars in raids.
