    Default Fire Savant II???

So been waiting for the new Sorcerer Savant's for a while. The Fire Savant II was supposed to give Scorching Ray, not Scorch. I wouldn't be as upset, but all the others are still the same. You get a 2nd level spell as a spell-like ability. (Earth -Acid arrow, Water-Snowball Swarm, Air- Electric Loop, and Fire is supposed to get Scorching Ray, but instead they gave Scorch which is basically a burning hands with a little bit more range and damage. It's just silly that they made up this spell just to nerf Fire Savant.

It was changed a couple patches ago on Lamannia.

The change does strike me as unnecessary. Fire Savants are weakened inherently by how common fire immunity is.

Agreed, scorching ray was the *only* reason I ever considered going fire savant. When they changed it on Lamannia, I knew that the only real choice for my sorc is ice.

    Default Thats gay

I tested it out a while ago so I didn't notice the change, I think I'm still going to keep it, but the fact that earth still gets acid arrow is just a bummer. Scorch isn't even a spell.

I actually just tested it for a bit in Vale, and It's not as bad as I though, It his multiple enemies, has okay range, and does alright damage, Its nice that its a AOE, b/c that allows for more damage across the board, especially if your running out of sp, which is why spell likes are so nice.

It's a spell from all the way back in 3rd edition. It just isnt a very good spell is all. The spell in PnP is Aganazzar's Scorcher.

    edit: 3rd edition not 2nd

I just wanted something that i can cast a bunch with a bit more range, its cool that scorch can hit multiple targets, but I would rather have scorching Ray.
Its okay they nerfed acid arrow as well

No they didnt. Acid arrow recieved a buff for update 9. They decresed the duration but increased the damage per tic. To get the same damage before that you can get with Acid arrow now you would have had to sit and wait several minutes. Also they allowed stacking of multiple Acid arrows from multiple casters max 1 per caster. Buffed.

I'm sure they raised the level cap for it because it seems like its doing a bit more than 5d8, which would be more like 5d4+20 in ddo, but it's doing quite a bit of damage

Major problem with this... There's a Reflex save, with Scorching Ray, there was no save, and with Acid Arrow there is no save. That sucks! Know what you cant do? Cast it against someone with Evasion efficiently, know what you can do with Acid arrow, cast it on someone with Evasion Efficiently....
