    Default U9 spell change feedback

    So with U9 just around the corner now, I thought I would go ahead and add to the DooOOOoMMMMM1!!!11!!!!

    How dare they nerf spells like:

    Wall of Fire

    The fact that they have improved in some way or another:

    doesn't matter. Nope, not at all. Because, you know, we liked the tiny handful of spells that actually got something that could be called a nerf. And we don't want to learn to use/have to use the huge number of spells that got improved. No sirrah! Give us back out 'click one or two spells over and over again in every situation in every quest'. We don't want all this new better spells just our old handful of good spells back (or better yet anti-nerfed to an even higher level of power). We demand you hear us!

    let us know when you actually test some of those "Improved" spells...

    Every single spell in the so called "improved" side thats extendable currently, should be moved to the nerf side.

    Many spells also got stealthed nerfed not listed in the release notes.
    Solig for for example, which was nerfed years ago, was nerfed again in u9 unexplicably.. They added a save to it.

    Overall yea some spells greatly improved.

    Regardless, you don't make up for nerfing A) by buffing B). It doesn't work like that - every nerf should of been carefully thought out. That's like hading us a plate of ****, then tossing some sprinkles on it and expecting us to eat it.

    The horrible nerf imo isn't spells tho, it's combat tactics. The new animations are terrible and reduce not only there effectiveness, but general dps.

    Ahh, I'll edit those out right way... oh... did that already. I tried to leave out ever spell that was effected by the extend changes from the get go, as well as any spells that had a positive change but also a stealth nerf (but no promises I caught them all, its a long list of sprinkle spell improvements after all.).



    let us know when you actually test some of those "Improved" spells...

    Time to start playing the guitar again. This game is becoming lame. Where the heck are the druids, gnomes and polearms?

    Yea I read the release note. The release notes are quite often wrong.
    The save was never removed.

    Well you you didn't do very well.. Here is a list of extendable spells in your list that are being nerfed:

    Hypnotic Pattern - Heavily nerfed, the fact it could last long was the only good thing about it. Not only is it no longer extendable, but base duration was heavily nerfed.
    Touch of Idocy - Meh. I'd say this one got 50/50 improved/nerfed.. lower cost and added debuf are nice, but extend nerf isn't.
    Bestow Curse - Extend nerf.
    Ray of Exhaustion - Extend nerf, plus they just plain broke the spell. No longer even works.
    Sleet storm - Extend nerf.
    Crushing Despair - Extend nerf.
    Fire Trap - Extend nerf. Damage was up'd sure, but it still sucks as a spell, so overall its a failed change.
    Solid Fog - Double nerfed as I said. Extend nerf + added a save. Additionally still doesn't work vs red/purple named, not even the extra -5 reflex added, thus useless overall.
    Symbol of Fire - Extend nerf. Damage boost was dumb as its still a worthless spell. essentially functions like DBF trap now, but takes up a far more valuable slot and wont bypass mantle (lvl4)
    Hold Monster - Was not improved period. Spellpoint cost remains the same. Taking off extend was actually a good thing given the very good base duration, but imo that qualifies as unintended bug fix, and not a direct improvement.
    Waves of Fatigue - Extend nerf.
    Symbol of Pain - Extend nerf.
    Finger of Death - Argueably it wasn't improved overall, due to the vastly nerfed cooldown time.
    Symbol of Weakness - Extend nerf.
    Incendiary cloud - Extend nerf. The damage was only just barely increased (total damage dealt with extend is nerfed), then they added a save to the blindness component ,and nerfed its duration. Heavily nerfed spell, not improved. The concealment part is still bugged too.
    Bane - Extend nerf
    Command - Extend nerf
    Doom - Extend nerf
    Blindess - Extend nerf
    Blade Barrier - Extend Nerf.

    No loner extendable, but improved otherwise:
    Sleep/Deep Slumber (nerfed for the low hitdice stuff it used to work on, overall I'd say its an improvement tho since it was rarely used at low lvl)

    Nerfed by vritue of being bugged/stealth nerfed:
    Scare (Contrary to the notes, the hitdice cap was not removed when I tested, thus the extend nerf applies)

    Actually not only are all the spells not extendable, but for many of them, the base duration was heavily nerfed too.
