Greetings spell casters. Up until recently I had a capped Silver Flame Favoured Soul with the free searing light SLA. The cooldown on this SLA was slightly longer than the cooldown on the spell itself. The cooldowns on the SLA and the spell itself were on different timers, as was plainly obvious as I use the UI setting shat shows countdowns on your timers. If I used the SLA, it could have 5 seconds left on its timer and I could freely cast the spell searing light. However, I noticed that if I cast the spell searing light, I could not use the SLA until the timer on the spell was up. Even though no timer appeared on the SLA on my hotbar.
There appears to be a bug where if the spell is timered, the SLA will also become timered, although it does not work in reverse. This was very frustrating for me as a FvS with full smiting enhancements, as I frequently use both the SLA and the spell for light nuking, and this bug results in me not being able to cast the spell as frequently as I would like, as I need to always cast the SLA first. It essentially extends the timer of my spell to the same duration as the SLA. If there were no bug, I might cast the SLA 3 times in 10 seconds, and the spell 5 times (estimating the timers here), instead of casting each 3 times, which is the current situation. If I wish to cast the SLA whenever it is off cooldown, I can not cast the spell any more frequently than the SLA.
I am curious if any of the other caster classes with SLAs have noticed a similar bug with their timers, or if this is limited to Favoured Souls? Also, for Favoured Souls with SLAs for other deities, eg cure light wounds, do you notice a similar timer bug related to your spell?
