my favorite forum

heck the only forum i ever bothered with in my life is this one. not like the bbs days of old. back then we had accountability of many sorts. here...? lol. i never meet 90% of the people here ingame. wonder why. well except the marketplace. i get a completely different player base here then in game. in game i got a ton of friends who love to game with me and i love to game with them. here....? can anyone say why that is? im the same there as here. i presumed they were too. anyone have insight?

My first guess would be that fully 3/4 of the people I group with in game have no idea or care that this Forum actually exists.

Any chance your experience is the same?

BTW....other "forums" lead back to here......I'm just sayin is all.

To my understanding on a very small % of people who play DDO use the forums.

Only about 10% of players use the forums. Most are content/to busy playing the game, or don't know about forums. ONly the hardest of the hardcore post on forums.

at least a 1/3rd of forum posts are "Don't hate the game, hate the player. " type posts. Then complaining about mechanics, suggestions, trading, and loot.

I think maybe strongly opinionated people are more represented in forums than in game, certainly people who don't care about much one way or the other don't hang out on forums,

Not necessarily true! I don't care much either way, and I browse the forums for 2 reasons.

1. To learn about the game, ongoing developments, other builds, advice, etc..
2. To pass the time at work when there is nothing else to do!!!

The 2 guys I play with only hit the forums if they are looking for info on a build. We essentially all share the same brain cell though. We've been gaming together for nigh on 11 years now & have similar feelings on positive/negative changes. I'm just more vocal. So, I'm the guilty one preaching about mechanics Mourn lol. I like reading the other forums, but not an avid poster over there. So, no, I generally run with folks that have the same POV, we enjoy the game, but aren't completely thrilled with direction.

I think most people get their info from (ugh) the advice and general channels around the harbor and marketplace. I'd hazard 100 times more people read the wiki than the actual forums.

As far as other people go, I've ran into several of the folks that post in the Sarlona forums regularly & I'm yet to have a bad experience. As well as some more interesting characters like Madmac & the guys from HLOM are always fun to run with.

It's true. He told me he was going to squelch me and my response was "awesome, now I can talk about you" (not in those nice terms though).

Kages replied back that I could do that anyways, since I didn't have to do anything to make him hate me

I read the forums. But I havent played with the people who have posted above. . Although im always keeping a lookout on soloartiste when he hits 20 again. heehe

Because I like Sarlonites. Thats why I read this forum. I don't waste time with any other forum besides Sarlona.
And, I play with a lot of people in this forum, at least some of the time.
