    Default Broker idea

Everyone has a love hate relationship with brokers. They buy your stuff for a better price. They sometimes have what you want for a better deal than the AH.

Many times, they can have nothing at all.

I think instead of just purging their contents every so often, they should hike their butts a few yards away and offload their wares to the AH for sale at their usual markup for the BuyNow option. All proceeds go to the loot tables.

In game it could look exactly like that. The broker wanders to the AH for a bit, and the list is loaded up to the AH with base value bid and sell markup as buy now.

This would get the items off the broker list and help force the AH economy for random loot to stabalize.

I think this is an inresting idea, and merits some thought.

I'm not sure how the coding for it would work, or if it could even be done.

I'm not sure if it would help stablize the AH or not. You could always end up with someone just buying it and reposting at an inflated price.

I do think this idea is a bit better than just having items vanish from game, because they where sold to a broker.
Your complaint has been lodged, duly noted, and swiftly rejected.

    I dont like this idea.

Searching for an item atm is tedious as it is. You want Goggles of Eagle Splendour for example, put them words in and you get 5 pages of intelligent goggles of eagle splendour (example).

This idea will just clog up the broker with useless **** even more than it is already.

After update 9 you will have a much easier time finding items with verbage like +5...

But even if it didn't, scouring the AH is better than the alternative, the broker dumping the items into the void.

My biggest reason for this kind of feature would be to offer ingredients for crafting. This way the resources stay in game instead of having one source (the AH) keeping them, and the other source (brokers) deleting them.

Originally I was thinking the broker would just list items on the AH when one of two triggers hit. 00:00 time or when they hit say 5000 entries in their list.

As far as fixing the AH, I know people could buy low/sell high, but that would be a ton of time for them to look for items at an 'unusually low' buyout price and then buy it and relist. And even if they did, it still keeps more items in circulation, which again, helps everyone.

Good thought but no thanks, I would prefer less trash on the AH not more.

This may change after U9 however.

The way it is now let people have a fair chance at picking out any good loot while visiting to sell.
Chances are if the item is good someone will pick it up, and if not then it was just another piece of junk.
Sending the bulk of the remains to the AH would be a big trash dump.

What is needed in the AH is full text search so that we spend less time searching and more time questing to get more loot.
That way the AH would be filled with usable stuff more frecuently and for cheaper.
To one people it may sound trivial but globally it would make a big difference.

I think it's a great idea...but something tells me that it would be a nightmare to actually code it since the AH changes so frequently.

but then again i am not a programmer so idk

I disagree because as it is now, you have to wait for the list to populate and then sift through uncategorized items to find a needle in the haystack.

The whole point of the crafting system is to give a life to all that junk. That is why I am saying the brokers should dump the junk to the AH, so instead of being sucked into the void, it gets put to use.

And I already said after U9, it will be a lot easier to find items on the AH.

... I guess you didn't read everything in this short thread.

When you go to level up your crafting, you will want more junk items to deconstruct. The first place you will see people b-line for is the brokers. They have plat, they will spend it. The second place they will hit is the AH. Then they will ransack every quest they can solo. Then they will complain about the brokers being empty and the prices on AH being too high.

Everytime DDO launches, my wife freaks out because of the giant Illithid (sp) towering over the dwarf in the loading screen. I am glad Cthulhu approves. LOL
