Default Do bard songs not work on red-named?

Or even orange-named for that matter?

I noticed yesterday some bosses seemed to ignore my Song of Capering. Today I ran a couple quests far below level, and watched "Combat" tab. Whenever I hit a trash mob, a line would appear "You hit a [mob] with Song of Capering". When I hit a boss, nothing at all would happen. And it is not because they were tough -- Lotigath the gargoyle in Cerulean Hills (CR 4) ignored Song of Capering, as did the boss sahuagin in Storehouse Secret.

Yea, they don't work on red-named. Should work on orange named mobs though. Maybe change the text color so you can distinguish more easily - it's hard for me to tell the difference.

Q&A is the business of pointing out others' failures. Optimists need not apply.

Orange names are immune too. Orange names are affected by spell based CC, but not song based.

Anything that is immune to fascinate is immune to capering. It makes my Virt sad in Amarath.

Why? Devils can be fascinated AFAICT -- trash devils, anyway.

I'll have to check again but I am 98% sure the Orthons and Devils in Amarth could not be cappered. You can caper tieflings, but who cares about them.

Regarding the Amrath devils, you're probably remembering Bastion of Power. The devils there have a permanent ward buff, a lot like the giants in Prey on the Hunter. They cannot be affected by most mind-altering effects, and cannot be vorpal'ed/insta-killed by spells. I'm assuming, but don't know for sure, that Capering doesn't work on them.

    Some mobs have blanket immunities.
