Annoying VoD (Rant Thread)

Honestly I'd rather do pretty much anything in the game than farm Weapon shipment again... but some people prefer the arrowhead I guess

tell me about it, been trying to get a bauble or arrowhead on my bard, over 30 ws and havent seen a single one drop for anyone in the party.

the thing i hate about weapons shipment is that its so dang slow!! started a thread to speed it up, or make it less boring or something a while ago.

Im also confused, the op says he doesnt want to melee because he will miss? on a ranger? even if your an archer dont you want to put points into str? because of bow str, more str = more dps both ranged and melee?

OP what race is your AA ranger? if its elf/drow or halfling you could of done a 50/50 str dex split, all level ups into str and enhancements both racial and class into dex?

In order to truly appreciate the OP, you have to take a look at the character he used in that raid I think. Combining the myddo page with the OP is where things get... interesting.

Weapon Shipment: The quest I've literally fallen asleep in on a number of occasions. Still no bauble for any of my divines or arcanes. And I am very reluctant to group to do it after watching fighters/barbs take baubles and in the same breath try to lay claim on whatever I managed to pull.

I really wish they would speed that quest up somehow. Increase the spawn rate or something. The long lulls of nothing at all happening just don't work well with my playstyle.

Best way, the only *good* way to do Shipment is to have a somewhat static group in which, once she starts summoning, 1-2 people do the quest while others alt-tab and go for a shower, read the forums, or maybe a book. Rotate the roles till something drops

Regarding Bloodstone, yes, I know it's expensive.

Expensive? I don't buy them. I've looted 3.

However, never pass out Barkskin or Camo, or you won't be welcome in any raid group.

Hah. True! Camo - AKA Barfskin - is useless and annoying, and I found out about not passing out bark when I got reamed out profusely by a guy with 5 different guards on his gear and armor. "I WANT them to hit me!!" Oops :/

Buffs you actually need as a ranger are Ram's Might, Barkskin, Resist Energy, FoM, Poison (its good to be able to pass it out even if you don't personally need it)

As for Weapons Shipment and the Bauble... I've run that with my FvS about a dozen times and no Bauble. Ran it solo with my tempest ranger once and it dropped. Sigh...

To the OP: Since you are close to lvl 20, maybe just get there and TR and build a more effective version. Or you could lesser/greater reincarnate to get you where you need to be to run raids and epics now. If you're gonna TR, what I did was loot a full Might of the Abishai set from Chrono and some Red Fens sets first. You can fit 4 Red Fens sets on a toon at once. Now wearing Marshwalker, Raven's, Siren's and Divine Blessing.

That guy's an idiot.
If he wants to get hit, then his AC sucks. It sucks so hard that an extra 5 points from bark isn't going to change anything, and he'll still be getting hit anyway.

Well, yes. His AC jumped from 15 to 20. Considering you need mid 70s in VoD, the quest we were doing, to be effective... Still, I'd rather not annoy people whether or not they are short bus ubermensch.

As for obscuring those spiffy armor appearance kits, my dex/ac monk has a pirate hat with +5 natural armor. No more hiding that awesome Spiral II kit. You can't bark him up even if you try. And its nice not to have to beg a ranger in every raid.

Please stay in mass heal range of the person I've told the party I'm targeting. Please? It makes Clerics sad.

It makes favored souls and healing bards sad too.

If someone dies outside of my mass heals, I will not waste my time or SP or a scroll to raise them. If the PUG I am supposed to heal has any player with a range weapon equipped at the beginning of quest, I warn the party that everyone needs to stay within mass heal range or they need to take care of themselves.

I've yet to be in a quest or raid that failed because I refused to heal a lone archer.
