I do not auto-squelch because of a single blind invite. I do auto-decline, though, as many others here seem to do.

Blind invites could be annoying if I was in the middle of a fight, but I can't remember the last time that happened. I would definitely react to that with a pointed tell.

Azmodeus1: Yes, you might find it easy to spam invites that way. As Cardtrick says, though, be aware that continued use of spamming blind invites will annoy a lot of people, and might make it harder to get into groups at higher levels. Try to use the LFM system, it really does work here in DDO, and doesn't take all that long to set up.
Sending tells is fine, too, IMO - as long as they're polite and fairly understandable.

I've has several random /tells this week inviting me, and my wife got one too.

Strangely all were for Tempest Spine and we were on fighters and barbarians, not clerics or rogues (I thought random invites were normally for these). As I joined one, I heard on voice chat, "Thank god! A fighter!"

We did 8 runs all told and all went reasonably well.

I'll accept random invites if I like the quest, and don't squelch unless someone annoys me with multiple invites after being turned down.
He left the name, at which the world grew pale.

    i auto-decline.

i heard somewhere (forget where) that in some other game blind group/guild invites were common and accepted, and i heard it further theorized that the people doing most of the blind invites here came from those games and are confused by the rejection. i dunno.

    ^ This.

There was this one day when all the planets must have aligned or something, because I kept getting blind invites while soloing, in the middle of fights. I accepted after the fourth or fifth of these blind invites, turned off party chat and continued the quest chain in sorrowdusk.

Almost never get blind invites though. I usually get /tells if anything, to which I respond that I took no healing spells(not true of course), or if I see they have an lfm up looking for only a healer - 'sure I'll go, let me log onto my barbarian!'.
Word seems to get around, and I'm quite happy with that. If I want to heal a pug, I will make the choice via lfm panel

BUT, just wanting some general thought on the unsolicited party invite from people I don't know. Friends / Guildies / People I often run with I am capable of getting past my instant revulsion to the tactic kinda like I get past my aunt still trying to feed me cucumber sandwiches and smother me in her floral print covered 100E bozambas. However, from randoms it's an autosquelch.

Am I overreacting here or do others hate this tactic as much as I do?

Just kinda trying to feel out where the social divide is on this topic.
