    Default Fairness!!!

I pay to play but can only get on ever so often & for short periods. It really sucks that if I want the cool Red Dragon armor I have to play for days on end with no life at all. I believe that for us players who pay to play we should be given easier ways to get the epic items instead of us being subjected too the same rules as everybody else. I love Dungeons & Dragons but I hate that I can't get the coolest stuff because of my work schedule.

Hehe.... don't you know about the Easy button?

Click the Easy button and your character gets level 20 with a complete set of +4 tomes, all epic items and 10million pp.

I use it all the time.

Seriously... it's a game... true. But it's based on a reward system. You are rewarded for the amount of time you play the game, because the more you play - the more you pay - either with store purchases or subscription. It's simple economics.

Because somethings are harder to get than others, there's certain status that comes with having them. So, the people who spend the most time (or have the most sheer dumb luck), have better and more gear that those who spend nearly no time.

That's the way every other game works.... the the way life in general works - the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

Asking for them to make it easier - just because you can't spend more time playing - is like asking your boss to give you the same raise as someone else who works much harder than you - all because you can't be bothered to work as hard.

I don't get to play as much as many others and I don't have as much cool stuff - and that's fine. I choose to do other things. That's my choice.

You have a choice too. If you want the cool stuff... make a different choice.

    ^ very true. +1

Though, I think the point has merit, as I would love to create a new lvl 20 char with all epic items, and 10 mil plat. Of course the +4 tomes would be unbound, so i could leverage those and turn my 10 mill into 20 mill. Of course then i would need to break into my neighbors house to get his CC to pay for the additional toons required to hold all the plat....

Clearly, the solution is to quit your job and get yourself some dragonscale already.

Hey, I completely understand the OP's position. I want all the cool gear too! I work a full time job and am on call 24/7 plus I go to school full time for my bachelors degree. The best thing I did was go down the list of all the named loot in the game (you can look on the DDO wiki) and add it to a text document along with its location. Then, as I went up in levels, I asked my guild if they would like to run a certain adventure. If they did, great! If not, then I added myself to the group list and hoped for the best.

All in all, its not that bad to get good items. I get to play a few hours per week, sometimes more on the weekends, depending on how many times I get paged. I might only have a level 18 rogue/monk but I have some DT armor, a few really nice items, and have modest collection of other named loot that might not help me but I think is cool.

Would I like things easier? Maybe let my loot gems give a slightly better chance for some decent loot (5 Mindsunder runs now and 1 person looted a named) but all in all I am quite happy with the way things have gone. Were it not for a couple of people in my guild, I would not have my Garments of Equilibrium or my DT, but I cannot complain.

    Um.. are you being serious??
    really?

We should be given easier ways to get the epic items?
In truth, this is already the case. We get extra adventure packs (read more LOOT and XP), DDO points, etc.. (I'm referring to the VIP's, not the Premium players.

Nah if you want the cool red dragon armor you can play for days at a time with no life at all and still have no cool red dragon armor.

Last 17 runs 1 scale and counting... of course, 56 runs 9 scales total so that's not too bad. Just feels odd that it dropped from around 1 in 5 runs to 1 after 15. Feels like once I hit 20th completion got no drops anymore.

At 1/15 if you run edragon once per weekend you'll have 4 scales after a year. So in 5 years you CAN have your cool red dragon armor!
Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.

Oh, and I'm not trying to derail the thread, so here's my opinion on the OP.

I know what you want, but it won't help, and here is why:

Let's say that there is a system to grant players who play half as often x% worth of extra loot, as you'd like. For the sake of argument, lets x=100, so complete compensation, complete equality, complete "fairness" according to your vision. The player who plays twice as much and thus has no relative compensation, can simply play 2 characters half as often. All of a sudden , he's doubled his loot, and is again double the material progression relative to the one who plays half as often.
All this resulted in is doubling everyone's loot, and that isn't what you'd want. When everthone's special, nobody is special.

So you see, you won't actually end up closing the gap by much if any at all, assuming they actually try to acquire loot.

    Sorry to bust your bubble!
