Default Need support multi - heals/lp

Hi - returning to game after long time away.
My son and I play mmporgs together, we both like DDO. He runs around bashing things (dps) and I always play support for him.

I'm thinking something like Favorite Soul and then lockpick/traps - is this possible? Then I can heal in groups, but get the groups out of situations.

If there is a good spec out there, please forward link. Thanks!

And if a better idea to support him (class wise) let me know.

    Thumbs up Robard

I would suggest Bard18/Rogue2 - plenty of skill points, decent heals if you spec for them and great all round buffs for your melee son

Ah bard 18/Rogue 2 - that does sound interesting.
    Any build links out there?
Interested to give that a shot, strong heals, buffs and trap detection/lock picking would be a fun support class I think.

Any other interesting combos to think about?

    Maybe 17 cleric/2 rogue/1 monk? Meh, just a thought...

But 17 cleric/2 rogue/1 fighter could be ok.

I think 18 FvS/2 rogue coudl be viable, too.

I posted this TWF rogue / bard Spellsinger the other day: good melee DPS, heals, buffs, trap skills, Evasion. If you don't care about melee, you could drop the ftr lvls and melee feats to focus on spell casting; that would also let you drop DEX.

Be forewarned, though, that it's more challenging to play a bard healer than a cleric or FvS, due to their lower SPs and slower spell progression (made worse by the rogue & ftr splashes).

This might not be available to you, however.

My son insists on playing a WF fighter. So, I support him with a 18 Wizard / 2 Rogue (Pale Master).

He gets to smack on things, and I get to do everything else (Locks, Traps, Crowd Control, Healing and general exploding of monsters).
