    *instadecline

    *why was i declined? (me)

*sorry, cant take elven wizards (party leader)

*[link]xachosian eardweller, skiver, staff of the petitioner, epic diabolists robe, pale lavendar ioun stone, litany of the dead, torc of raiyum de II, rahkir set[/link] (me)

    *sorry, no elves (partyleader)

apparently im just too gimpy to survive or be useful D: has all my playing been a dream? is my wizard a gimp who was never useful? did i just imagine my 41 unbuffed dc was having effects or my eardweller skiver sup pot VI was doing a moderate amoutn of damage ? ><

later i see a drow wizard in his party.....

Yeah but why do you *care*?

Next quest on and leave phailshroud be. No need to thread it.

The party leader decides who they want to take.

If they decline, you move on.

    Not worth the popcorn.

I think MeliCat's point was this "Be glad you didn't have to endure that shroud group"

In all the time I've been playing DDO I've run into all sorts of declines and "We must have x class to succeed" responses.

As in RL sometimes no matter how good we think we are, there is always someone out there that doesn't know us from "Adam or Eve" and will pick based on their own bias (usually based on what knowledge they have or think they have, and sometimes on experiences they think they have had)

And now you have learned something yourself from this experience. It does not matter what gear you have, how many hit points you have or how good your DC's are; If someone says NO, move on, nothing is gained by waving sticks and stats in front of people.

The best thing about DDO is there is almost always more then twelve people on at any given time

As a note all I play is Elves and Half-Elves

while i did indeed carry on and do another shroud, i was just a little disturbed by the level of "high level noobishness" desplayed, so i put it up, its more for comedic purposes than anything else...

Don't worry, OP. Elven Arcanum is getting a serious boost in U9, such that I'm currently leveling an elf wizard to take advantage of the extra spell penetration. You will have the last laugh when you are landing almost all of your instakill and debuff spells. I'm going a different way than you are, pale master and focusing on those things, but trust me... the elf-hate will stop once you see non-TR elves landing spell after spell after spell. +4 for two feats, +4 four four tiers of arcanum, possible +3 for items, and for those willing to put the work in, +2 to +6 for past lives... We're talking +10 or +11 being VERY reachable endgame, and as you level, you'll not really have to worry about mob SR. Even before the change, elf is not a horrible choice, and I've never denied someone a party slot because of character race or race/class combination. If I'm not sure, I'll ask someone why they took a particular class spread... and even then I've only denied someone for that because they were cleric and wizard split 50/50. Anyhow, smile, laugh it off, and thanks for the laugh.

at least you got a response... and there is nothing wrong with an Elven wizard. Chin up and move on to the next one.
Write the persons name down so you can rub it in their face when you see them again.
My demands are simple. Ducks, penguins and tortoises as pets. I'll buy hats and bow-ties for them all.

Come to the light. It's ok, it will all be over soon. Here, have a heart (of wood).

    Default Just plain wrong

Nothing at all wrong with Elven Wizards. Even before the U9 buffs to Elven Arcanum. It is nice to see, though. Elves should be a primary choice for wizzies. Traditional D&D places wizards as a preferred class for elves. Its been off that they not get more bonuses in that area.

In any case, when looking at races with affinity for wizards you have Drow (int boost), WF (Self healing), Human (Int boost, Feat), Elf (Elven Arcanum line), Half Elves(Int Boost, Dill Feat). Really, the only races that don't have any synergy are Dwarves, Halfings, and Half Orcs.

But even the three without synergy are fine to play. No reason they can't excel with the right stat points, feats, enhancements, and gear. And with your gear list, there is no quest you can't run.

Especially a PUG shroud. Just pure foolishness on the part of the raid leader. But, as raid leader, he/she is entitled to be stupid. Wouldn't worry about it, as everyone else said. There will be another shroud LFM along in 5 minutes or less.

lol, people are silly. Don't worry, with U9, you can have...what? +4 Spell Pen with enhancements? If anyone calls you gimp then....well.....then they don't know much about other races/classes. :P

I beleive the correct protocol in this sort of situation is to set up an all elf shroud run , using the best elfs on the server to prove that not all elfs suck .
