    Default I'd love to be a PM, but...

    The Death Aura graphic just makes me nauseous, and I can't play with it running.

    Is it worth playing a PM without it running?

    I understand that U9 may fix the graphic. Any etas floating around in terms of when it's coming out (closer to 2 weeks, 6 weeks, or 12 weeks)?

    No idea when it's coming out, but U9 has definitely fixed the graphic- you can see the new one on the preview server, it's much better. Just hang in there for a little while.

    No idea on the eta but the new graphic is a very low-key black mistiness around your head and shoulders. It's easy to stomach.

    Great - glad that this is fixed. Guess I wait for U9 before switching over from AM.

    all I can say is the current graphic is not as bad as the sound, but I do like the improvement to the graphic yet the sound still blows.

    Turn down the sounds...simple fix!
    Axebiter, Cujo, Runeforge, Runefury, Runegoth, Runehealer, Runehamer, Runehorde, Runenight, Runesongs, Runezephyr
    And the forgotten: Runeaura, Runedevourer, Herstinkie, Runewolf,
    Caught somewhere between casual player and power gamer.

    Not really as it turns other sounds down also unless you have that cheat on how to turn down only that sound.

    Or to you not listen to the quest as I do. Example: did you know that you can tell when someone is gettting crit upon just by the sound probably not as that sound pretty much disappears after lvl11.

    A pale master having to turn down his or her own sound to avoid that obnoxious noise is fine. It's their choice to be that PrE.

    A pale master forcing everyone else to turn down that sound is something that MUST change. I depend on hearing certain sound effects during my play as a Cleric, and turning down all sound effects just because of one other player greatly diminishes my play experience and performance.

    I find Death Aura even better than grease! Here's why:

    1. People have to listen to the sound all the time if they play with it on.
    2. If you're aggressive like me, people will also be watching your aura a lot. From up close, nearly fullscreen.
    3. I have sounds on low volume, so I can hear voice over them even in battle.
    4. If you play in first person mode, you (and only you) won't see the aura.*

    * This is a bit two-edged. It also means I don't notice my aura is gone, if I'm not paying attention to it's sound or it's timer. And it means I die every now and then, when I don't notice I'm getting hit hard by ranged mobs cause no damage notifications in 1st person.

    It's really too bad that the visual effect is getting nerfed soon.

    The sound drives me nuts. I won't play a PM because of it, and I stay away from them in game or I get a headache.

    Turning off the sound is not a solution, sound cues are quite useful in this game.

    Nerfing death aura's ticks is not a solution either, since as of u9 there's nothing wrong with the spell but the sound.
    e.g. the aura of the skeleton mages do not tick every two seconds, but this is not the issue.
    The issue is we don't really need to have the sound on every tick.

    heck, if there's nothing to heal, it probably shouldn't make the sound anyways.
