Ah okay so there is a way for you to do it yourself. I didn't know for sure, but figured there was a way. I assume if you are in a casino in the states that they will automatically take your taxes right?

I wouldn't know. The state I reside in does not have any legal casinos. A state lottery lol, but no casinos.

I've never received an IRS form and have cashed out $2k at a time before, yes one of the sites mentioned. Received nothing but the cash, no receipt or anything.

That's incredible, i was a part of the online poker community for a long time (though based in the UK.) I shudder to to think how many young players have forfeited college to make an incredible living off of online poker playing. i really hope they kept a chunk of their bankroll outside of the poker sites though I imagine many will have been frozen out of literally millions of dollars.
Thanks for the heads up OP.

So you're saying you are able to deposit and withdraw to one of the sites mentioned using your US bank account? That's what we're talking about here.

I play (or did play) and am a longtime winning player (small stakes) and would prefer to play on a site based in the US. I'd feel more comfortable and secure and would rather our country get the tax $$$.

Gotta take care of the casinos. That is all this is about. That and the fact that Uncle Sam isn't getting their cut.

Now the common sense thing to do would be to allow companies to operate in the US so long as they were BASED IN THE US so they could be taxed and regulated but then that would **** off the casinos and since they are probably contributing millions to Sen. Ried (and many others I'm sure) I don't know if it will happen.

There is absolutely no moral ground whatsoever to forbid me from playing online poker. Anyone telling me otherwise is a moron or a hypocrite or both.

Why not legalize it and tax it?

And add pot to that list as well (even though I do not gamble or smoke- it's the Libertarian in me).
