Default Where did heavy fort go?

Until a month ago, I could easily find an outfit or robe with heavy fort for a reasonable (well, affordable) price, at least within a couple of days. But in the last two weeks I've been looking for one, and they've all pulled a disappearing act. The auction house is pretty cleaned out of a lot of stuff, but there only seems to be a couple of heavy fort cloth armors at a time, and going for way more than they're worth.

I figure this is either a late effect from the crystal cove surplus plat monster or has something to do with U9. I recall skimming some thread about fort changes but I can't find it now.

So is everyone hoarding them? Did I miss something important?

If anyone's got a spare one I'll put up 8k or so.

well, i guess it could be explained due to the fact u can place seeker(or another good bonus) on your noggin, which free's up a trinket, but loses the spot for your minII helm/minos.

Only other free spots for that would be armor, belt, and ring. Belt and ring both high value real estate due to tod sets.

At least this is what i think.

I attribute the general lack of items in the AH to the fact that U9 (and its new crafting system) is now right around the corner. People are hoarding everything they think they might want to deconstruct so they dont have to farm/buy it at ridiculous prices once the update goes live.

It could be speculators. Personally, I picked up a few weapons that would soon be nice DR breakers and sold some high + vorpals with hilarious markup this week.

Due to the event hats I was looking for a couple of heavy fort outfit/robes recently to fill slots until I could replace my DT effects with heavy fort. Just went and ran Siegebreaker twice and wound up with 3 of the Heavy Fort + Concentration + Unarmed damage outfits.

If you have Antique Bronze Token left, you can try those too.
With the 50 Token turn in (Robes) you have a good chance to get a Robe of Heavy Fortification after some tries.

Sounds like a storm of things, but mostly this:

I'm finally less indifferent about U9. And more irritated.

Oh geez what a waste of tokens! Just go run black anvil mines once for the heavy fort necklace (lvl 9), or make due with moderate fort until lvl 11 (minos legends for heavy fort, lvl 11).

for the people doing this they might want to take a look at the system on lamania u dont take heavy fort of an item and just put it on another wat u do is take 1 thing on the item break that part down for base ingrediants wich u use to make shards (note heavy fort is a much higher level of crafting) then u add that shard to the item youve been warned

Get the necklace at "A Relic of a Sovereign Past" quest. Just collect the ore and turn in 10 or 15 to Galrias the Smith inside the quest. Here more info on this:

Which would be the reason for hoarding. You need multiples of any item property to get what you want on a new item. Rather than playing catchup after the update goes live, the 'smart' players have previewed the system on Lama, and are now stockpiling the things they will need for the mats to forge their new items, effectively getting a jump on everyone else. They can then farm items to sell at outrageous prices post-update, or use them themselves, but still be ahead of the game.

The other 'smart' people are waiting. When the servers dont implode and the new crafting system DOESNT get nerfed into oblivion, or the items are not bugging out when crafted, or disappearing in the bank, etc. and the AH prices drop back to something more reasonable after the initial ZOMG GOTTA HAVE IT rush, and all of the recipes are well-known and blah blah blah, THEN we will go out and forge our items with some semblance of security.

And no, a month of 'previewing' (read: testing) on Lama does not constitute that security blanket on live :/
