Hi Everyone,
Looking to upgrade from my 4-5 year old desktop to something newer and fingers crossed better. Haven't had too many issues with the last one which is good but a change of circumstances has allowed me to consider something newer.
So as I am a newb/noob when it comes to more recent hardware developments I thought I would ask advice from the friendly tech-heads here. My usage will mostly be gaming (mostly DDO but some others) some small scale video/music/photo encoding/processing and the usual sort of mix of home use that most smart phones can handle.
The specs I'm looking at initially is as follows
- Intel Core i5 760 Processor LGA1156 2.8GHz 8MB Cache CPU
- Asus P7H55-M LX LGA1156 2DDR3 GLAN 1PCIEx16 mATX
- Kingston 4GB(2 X 2GB) DDR3-1333MHZ
- Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3 SATA II 7200RPM 32M
- Gigabyte HD6870 1G OC GDDR5 PCIE HDMI DP
- Viewsonic VX2238WM-LED 21.5" 5ms Black LED with Speakers
- LG H22NS50 SATA 22X+- Super Multi DVDR Black with Software
- Thermaltake V5 LanParty Black Edition w Reinforced Handle NO PSU
- Thermaltake Litepower 600W ATX PSU
- Microsoft Digital Media Desktop 3000 Keyboard
- Microsoft Windows 7 Pro 64bit OEM
I am considering upgrading immediately to 8Gb of RAM but aside from that is there anything glaringly obvious that I should look into/avoid.
Thanks
