Any chance of a line-up with males in full plate?

It looks like a skin that is rather close to Jynx's Vexation will be available. If so, I may really have to plunk down more TP on a skin for amror I have already skinned!

Thanks for this. I really like the Plains 2 Dark / Steel on the platemail, and the Beast 1 Dark / Steel on the platemail. I really like the skins that are hot looking without showing lots of bare flesh, could actually see ponying up the points for those.

The Beast 2 is also quite interesting looking, quite spiky / cyberpunk. and the Docents are all nice.

    The rest, meh, more skankplate.

I think the Plains Robe and Heavy Armor are probably my favorites. They did a great job on the texturing on the Plains skin that I don't think the screenies do proper justice to. They actually look stitched together with skins and furs. I think the Beast Heavy armor looks alright too, maybe they went a bit overboard on the armor texture, but the black one does look pretty bad-ass, IMO.

Sure, they show a bit of skin, but the armor textures cover up most of that if you are so inclined. If anything I think it's a little bit better than some of the previous skins in that respect.

I can log on now and see if I can find an outfit to test. As far as male characters, I have none so unfortunately I can't show how they look on the guys (and besides I used all my character copies already). Perhaps if I can con the hubby into letting me copy over some of his Y-chomosome toons I can test that out too.

IF A TURBINE EMPLOYEE IS READING THIS: I can confirm that the Beast Dark/Steel and the Violet/Gray are switched when you try to purchase them. If you purchase Beast Dark/Steel, you get Violet/Gray, and visa versa.

I'm hoping the Adamantine version of the Beast Docent is bugged. As it has no skull and is just the purple version of the big broad-chested breastplate you can get as the ... edit - finally remembered it's more like the Dragon Touched Docent.

Will assume this is bugged until I hear otherwise as there is no way I'd pay for something I can loot for free.
(Though, with that being said, I already have a purple-ish copy of the heavy Beast armor for fleshies that I randomly looted a long time ago. I've always kept it for 'running around town' armor as it's stats are ****. That will finally be useful once crafting goes live.)

I like l'outfits the best here

Although granted, the TP cost of these will probably be too high for me to bother with any of them. At around 100-200 TP, I would buy one of each over all my characters. At 300+, I'm better off sticking with base skins and buying none at all.

I think those Docents look great!

The rest of the armors just "ok," but the Green versions of Beast 2 look good, especially on Medium Armor.

Please elaborate how? I am not being sarcastic just curious as I don not preview on Lamania. Are you referring to the ability to strip it of its current abilities and add new ones to it? I wasn't aware that we could do this with armor, I assumed it was only weapons. Thanks for any reply

AMEN brother (or sister)...this has been said so many times before. Turbine missed the mark on this one. Everyone I have discussed this with agrees that at current prices (and the fact that the kits are BtI) people will only by 1 or 2 or none but if the kits were either BtA and could be removed from armor or if they were super cheap, people would buy a LOT more of them. As it is now, most people only buy them when they are capped for that final suit of armor. Why should I spend TP on a mid/low level suit of armor that I will outgrow in a few days???

Your missing a bigger chance here Turbine.

For the sake of science I went and picked up Adamantine Body on my WF Sorc to test out more skins.

    Docents (Adamantine)

Kits were available in Beast only.

    From Left to Right:

    Beast Dark/Steel, Beast Violet/Gray, Beast Blue-Green/Gray

Looks like my adamantine WF won't be bothering with these new kits. Those armor pieces are just pulled from a previous random loot design, and is one of the ugliest to boot.

(I mean really, what's the medal and the sash for? And that belt buckle. Yeesh. Sometimes simple is better.)

My thought is that it really shows us how their "fashion" people have a hard on for skulls. They put it on freaking everything. Enough of skulls already! I'm amazed they didn't bother sticking one skull per breast to make a breastplate. ugh.

I just had an awesome mental picture of one of my characters picking up a dead mob's skull and exclaiming "This would make an excellent bra!"

    Thanks for the LOLs.

    Hahahaha!

The question is, how much support do you need? Are you going to have to kill a cloudgiant or a kobold?

I think the halflings could get away with a kobold, but the half-orcs might need an ogre at the very least

Yeah, their Adamantine Body armor kits are atrocious except for that one Royal kit that looks more like the Blademarked Docent.

The thing is the docent armor kits just modify the base skin (under that turtle suit). Then Adamantine and Mithral add a secondary piece that is common to (nearly) all docent armor kits. Those secondary pieces make all of the docent armor kits look the same; there is no creative difference that stands out.

Currently, it looks cool (as I don't look at my feet very often.). But, it's like a +1 or +2 -something useless- Heavy Plate of Command. So it's about useless to my fighters who have much better armor. But, it does look nice and intimidating.
Note: The only time i've ever looted armor with the skull on it other than the blood plate armor is on randomly looted armors that had the 'Of Command' Suffix.

The reason I say it will be useful (eventually) once crafting goes live is that when you strip off the properties to make blank armor that can have stats crafted onto it, it keeps the same graphics. So it will still be the same 'Beast' skin without spending a single Turbine Point. But, once I'm done with it, it'll be at least a +4 Deathblock Heavy Plate of Fortification or something similar I'll also use the +1 armor ritual on it from the STone of Change so that it becomes a +5 Deathblock armor. At least until I can get up to a high enough lvl to craft +5's.
(According to posts in the crafting discussion, you can use the stone of change recipes on Crafted items) But, even if I don't. At least I can say it's my running around town armor because "I haven't crafted anything onto it yet" instead of it being just a +2 pile of poo. 8)

So if you loot a random piece of armor that has poor stats, but it looks cool, you can make it something better. (eventually... after many, many, .... many hours of crafting)
Also, you can craft any type of random loot item that you can get in game. So clothing, rings, bracers, gloves, etc. Everything. They had one flaw in that though. Because, there are no random trinket drops in the game currently so you couldn't make a trinket without buying a blank from the store. But, they fixed that as blank trinkets will be lootable as well as something from the shroud being usable as well. But, I forgot what exactly it was. (sorry)
