Epic DCs

I'm a little concerned with the Epic DCs, so I'm hoping that it's just my character not being good enough and not that we've they've raised the DCs so high that crowd control is useless.

I was doing Epic Tharashk Arena on my Archmage. He's got a 40 Enchantment DC... I had to Energy drain a troll EIGHT TIMES before he would stay held. That's 2d4 x 8 which is anywhere from 16-32 negative levels...

I'm confused on how this is possible... Not to mention the fact that I had used Hypnotism (another -3 IIRC) That means that he would have to have between a 45-72 Will save... I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous... It was an Troll Minion...

I understand that crowd control is being nerfed purposely so that we're actually supposed to fight the things rather than just easy button our way through epics, but this makes it seem like crowd control is useless in epics... Please tell me this isn't what others are seeing?

Edit: DISREGARD THIS THREAD! I made a REALLY stupid mistake when I was testing this this morning. I failed to realize that the night before, I had removed all of my gear that upped my DCs because i was trying to test to see if the debuffs worked even on a failed save, and I was half asleep this morning and never put those items back on! My sincerest apologies for everyone that wasted their time reading this thread. (My DCs BTW, were all the way down to a 32, and I was still able to hold SOME things in the quest.)

Not what I am seeing in Von 1. It might be that you got a bad string of rolls on your level drains?

Try using some of the other debuffs in combination.

Yea thats some nonsense. The trolls willsave is about 20-25 tops.

No debuffs at all on the trolls. Looks like the ogre has a meager -2 saves from the shaken proc he got off my belt.

DC40 still crushes this quest like its a joke.

Yah, you were right. Last night, I was trying to get my DC as low as possible so I could test what the debuffs did when mobs save, so I stripped all of my DC relevant gear, and I was in there with a 32, not a 40 DC... In my defense, I was half asleep this morning during testing, but either way... Complete waste of a thread, and my sincere apologies.
