Default Are you sure you are old enough to enter Vale?

Bard 12. Not a TR. First visit to Vale.

Made it to Meridia with no hireling and 15 kills:

    Nothing special really....

When Vale first came out the Level cap was 16 and people went there with level 12 all the time.

    Thumbs up

    Achievements can be quite subjective!

Awesome Job! Now go hit some rares in the area and step up the challenge a bit!

One of the best areas for vendor loot in the game at that level.

    Go get your haggle on.

I ALWAYS enter the Vale with my Characters at lv 12 to get the slayers started. I rarely die and have never NOT made it to Meridia on the first killthough. I guess its nice that you take pride in your little achievement though.
As stated before, Meridia came out when the level cap 16 (its release coincided with the cap raise from 14 to 16) banishing weps were still a bit on the rarer side.

Ignore the ego driven trolls mate, as you say it was easy... push on and find a real test of skill, always good to test your perceived limits.

Well, it was not a direct route After killing rakshasa nearest the gate I ran to the lake, swam east of Meridia, then looped past Rochussen (hence 5 Shavarath kills) through dogs and rats, then found a crimsonfoot to get 10th Lamannia kill. But seriously, it was not an efficient use of songs. I am used to throwing songs at everything and never running out. Next time will parcel them out better.

BTW, Twilight Dogs dancing is probably the funniest thing I had seen yet in DDO.

    Grats to the OP!

And when vale came out and level cap was 16 - people had farmed all kinds of raid loot and best in slot of everything.

You can do the same thing now by twinking a low level - but the gear level of your average player hitting vale at 12 is crud. You are lucky to find a heavy fort item by 12 unless you hit the auction house jackpot - or know *exactly* where and how to look for one. One quest - that you need ore for (can't buy it on a new toon - so enough ore for 1 person per run typically) - or you can start to farm your minos - just remember to farm enough for 1 minos you will most likely be level 15 as a new player.

Don't say 'minos is easy farm caravan/rats' - my first toon in the orchard - I read the wiki and checked the rare spawns on the maps - I never even *saw* caravan until I had 100% explorer and every other rare farmed. Yes you can spawn it and farm it if you know what you are doing - but your typical new player doesn't.

Nice work! I haven't tried going out to Meridia on a 12 character before, but now I must attempt it on my Cleric. Hopefully his Maxed/Extended Blade Barrier can last long enough to kill a few things (oooh - I better do it soon, while I can still Extend it!)

Not sure what all the derision is about - my first-life, 28pt, level 16 Elf Ranger with too much WIS, not enough STR, questionable CON, no raid gear and junk weapons (other than his paralyzer, which helped immensely) had a rough time out there the first time he went looking around. He made it to Meridia, but it was a close thing. No way he would have gotten past the first spider or ogre if he had tried it at 12.

chars exactly like that (**** build, **** gear, low hp) did shrouds with lvl 13 in mod 6. and not just on normal.

but as has been said, accomplishment is different for everyone and thats fine.

If you are a brand new player, and this is your highest lvl char. And you don't even know where Meridia is........then it is an achievement!

All of my char go to Meridia at lvl 12.
But usually have zero kills. And little agro.
But then....I don't leave potions if Invisibility in chests either.
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

I'd have to say it's because the screenshot just shows he zoned into the Vale and killed 15 mobs. It's not really a true milestone like a proper quest completion while underlevelled.

Can I do it? Probably not. But, it's still less awesome than it could have been.

GJ. The important thing isn't what anybody else says anyway, it's whether you thought it couldn't be done (or at least, couldn't be done easily). Gratz!

For some reason i keep getting mail offering to extend my... um... sword. But I hardly need it, do I?

Ordinarily I do not participate in "whose sword is biggest" competitions. But since I was planning to do this anyway...

    Again, no hireling:

And certain Crimsonfoots just would not let me loot Jukree's chest in peace. How rude of them! Well, I had to do something about it, didn't I?
