Reading tomes of experience in the game

Hi all,

Newbie question...
I would like to know if it is possible to read more than one tome, of a certain ability.
For example a +2 tome of stregnth, can you read a few of those books?
Is there a limit to how many you can read?

Only the highest tome will apply to the same stat. i.e: Base 18 Str. Read a +1 Strength tome, 19 Str. Now eat a +2 Strength tome, 20Str.. It will show as an inherent bonus to said stat.

Only the highest number count, so if you read a +1 STR tome and after that a +2 STR tome, you will have a bonus of +2 str,

Tomes don't stack.
If you read a +1 tome of str and then a +2 tome of str, you only get +2 to str.

So assuming you have read a +2 tome... of any ability, then there is no point in reading more tomes of that ability since I will not get any other upgrade, correct?

Tomes go up to +4 I believe.
If you have read a +2, no point in reading any +1s or +2s of that ability.
+3 will raise it by another 1. +4 will raise it by another 2.
