    Lightbulb Crafting and Guild Exp

While I don't see it as a must and don't think that even if the Devs decided to do it we would see it in U9, but does the community think of granting Guild Exp while crafting shards.

To avoid abuse it could have a % chance of 5, 15 or 50 GXP on any shard that grants crafting exp only. Have about the same % as killing a creature in a quest. This would avoid all the crafting grinding being pure dead time for the guilds.

Yes, no, suggestions and other thoughts welcome.

Guild levels will definately suffer as people take time off from adventuring to craft. I know when the "Crystal Cove" event took place for a week, our guild lost 2 levels because no one was running anything that gave renown and the decay rate is so darn high for large guilds that unless everyone is running renown runs it is near impossible to even maintian a guild level, much less gain one. Something seriously needs to be done about Decay, because every day I see a new guild to the server has reached some milestone in a week that the large guilds have trouble making in two months. If anything a guild with 500 people should be higher then a guild of 25, but that is rarely the case.

But I digress, that I should not be on a soap box about this in a thread ment to be about something else.

Simply put, a guild should gain renown from crafting by level, certainly a guild with a level 75 crafter would be more famous then a guild with 25 people in it, and no crafters.

    Just my 2 cents

Players have to accept trade-offs. Take advantage of an event or farm guild XP or spend time crafting.

Honestly though, best crafting farming will be out of looting chests, not collecting end rewards. Chests will have Impressive and Legendary victories as much as the useless junk that will go to the crafting grinder.

if the guild is large enough, they should be able to have an dedicated craftsman in the guild. not every one in the guild needs to craft, They Just keep doing their quest, donate Their gatherings of Crafting materials to the Guild Craftsman, make a request what you want built or just donate for the cause. You will not lose your Guild renown, and gaining a craftsman.
if your Guild is not large enough to use this type of coordination , then maybe find a way to make it work, or maybe that is just a guild of just a bunch individuals running around with the same Tag, just to gain Ship buffs.

But aren't crafted items BtC? Every toon you own would have to level up their crafting in order to make their own items.

I would rather just be able to craft 'bound to guild' items. That would make me quite the happy camper.

In it's current state, yes . . . everything crafted is BtC, except Disjunction items, But there are supposed to also be Un-Bound Crafting devices. Those just have not been added in yet.
We really do not need both devices to preview at first, But I am hoping we'll get to preview Un-bound Crafting before live.
The cost in crafting materials is also supposed to be more for Un-bound Crafting, and it has been suspected that the level requirements for some of the recipes will also be higher

    Wink

Thoon has stated that only shards are intended to be BtC/BtA, and that the live version will allow the crafted items to be sold on the ah, mailed to a friend, or traded, so not BtC/BtA (there may be some exceptions, especially for effects powerful enough for end game, like greater banes, banishing, dispelling, smiting and vamperism) The idea being that a person could craft above average items for an alt, even though the crafting level needed would be to high for when that particular item would be useful. Note crafting xp and level are not lost on a TR.

Ah, nice. That makes more sense.

This is a very good idea. I'd love to be our 'guild craftmaster'.
