    Default Cleric: Minos Helmet?

I recently got enough tapestries to get a helm on my 9 Cleric/ 1 Fighter and am debating with myself (yes, probably a sign I need even bigger help) on which one to actually get (yes i realize I'll have to wait one more level to actually use it, I've got that banked atm). I've had numerous suggestions of just going ahead and getting the Mino hat with the +20 HP and Heavy Fortification, but wanted to look at the other options as well. The helm with wisdom on it looks sorta meh and the helm with Devotion on it looks sorta meh too. Anything I'm missing on those two helms that would push them above the Minos?

    Default Minos all the Way

    Definitely get The Minos Legens.

That will do you all the way up to the start of your Epic career where you will find you can put toughness and heavy fort as enhancements on Epic items and then swap out your Minos for Greensteel. (unless they come up with a pretty special piece of Epic Headgear in the meantime)

The other helms are not very good compared to other options. The Minos is just that good w/ the stack +20 HP and heavy fort. As others said above wear it till 20 and using slotted epic items.

It's great till late, late game when you can work heavy fort and high hp with other items.

There are a couple helmets that can compete with Minos, but not from the Tapestry turn ins. Out of those options the Minos Legens wins quite easily.

Helm of the Mroranon (VON 6 Raid) - min level 9, +6 Wisdom helmet, would still switch to Minos at 13/15 depending on when you get +6 wisdom on another item slot. Worth holding on to though, as it can be turned into an Epic item with +7 Wisdom

Pirate Hat with Heavy Fort and +Balance/Concentration/Jump, having a skill on that slot might be worth 20HPs to a Cleric. Also a decent free to play option

Thanks for the suggestions/comments. I've been using a pirate hat with Magi (+100sp) and Concentration on it. I'll have to find a different source for the magi (or better) once I start using the Minos.

if (when) you get another 20 taps, the totemic lavalier isn't a bad choice.
+4 int (worthless to cleric) +4 cha (might be useful) and magi. generally, I'll
wear the totemic lavalier into the quest, use the extra sp for buffing and then
    switch over to minos.

    Minos for sure.

Hotbar them. Start quest with your SP items on, buff and then swap to your minos once you've used those extra SP. My favored soul swaps out an archmagi belt (worth 400SP to him) for his +6CON GFL belt after buffing. Sometimes you'll forget but that's the fun of keeping track of all that inventory mess .

Nothing on the Totemic Lavalier can't easily be looted or bought cheaply off the AH by that level.

That works but it would be better to sell the taps on the AH, and buy a magi rod for a whole lot less. Use savings on scrolls/wands and other stuff to keep the meatbags and finger wagglers alive to get your treasure for you.

Im currently using a superior potency VI pirate hat, but thats probably only a good choice between lvl 15 and 18, since its ML 15 and at lvl 18 torins choker becomes available. Anyway, Minos is definitely no mistake with a must-have (heavy fort) and a very good (stacking toughness) stat on the same item.

With U9 braces will appear (which have toughness), so Minos will be kicked of its throne on which it ruled with an iron fist. But till then you better take it.

This will also allow you to make use of the Sora Kell set and still benefit from the toughness HP.. a very nice combo for a melee cleric
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

true. i realize that, but (not speaking to what other players should have) i currently have about
400 taps sitting in my bank/reinc cache/mule and have been known to just hand out 20 to people randomly.

    Good luck finding something better.

My rogue is 3 years old. He has 15 greensteel items and 6+ epic items (Not pirate gear, either). I still can't find a better way to get Toughness and Heavy Fort than Minos Legen.

its another 20 hp. but there are allot of items that grant 100% heavy fort these days.
its just easy to get, with multiple effects.

with effects which are basicly an must for any toon.
    ----------------------------------------------
it will be best for any 1st lifers, or anyone up to level 20 grind.

you can however, just get heavy fort an any greensteel.
and slot 20hp in an epic slot.

saving another item slot. ( add more effects into this slot ).
whats the best you can do with 1 item slot?i am thinking at least 7 effects, minos legends has 2.

Minos is just too good. That toughness is so hard to replace (well the bracers may change that) that it's silly. If Minos granted for example heavy fort and +10 concentration it would be more balanced.
