Default Trash Weapon Survey for Rogues

Preface: This thread has not been updated since 11-08-2011. I intend to keep this thread as a snap shot of a rogue's arsenal in 2011 and will not upgrade it any further.

    Fellow Backstabbers!

I am interested which weapons you use typically against trash mobs. I am mainly interested in mid- to endgame weapons, even only planned setups, but feel free to include transition weapons.

Thanolis uses a Rad II rapier with an epic small blade in offhand or 2 metalline rapiers of pure good (has OTWF) for raid bosses. Ive been contemplating making a Vacuum II rapier but Im waiting to see what changes occur in U9 before I spend the larges for it.

    using

    lit2 khopesh (main)
    rad2 khopesh (off)

    or

+3 WoE khopesh x2 (on elite quests)

    or

    lit2 khopesh x2

    or

    mopg x2 (no mintu's yet)

    Dual RadII rapiers.

Getting a mob blind even 1 swing sooner makes it worthwhile to me. I'm amazed at how long it can take to blind a mob with two RadIIs so I'd never consider dropping that to one.

Additionally, a 15-20 crit weapon that does 4d6 light damage on a crit is pretty good DPS on its own.

    Basic, universal rogue build advice

level 20 assassin twf human rogue

most of the time I am swinging a RAD II and a Lit II rapiers

If monsters are held then a pair of rocksplitters or a dreamspitter

sometimes a pair of vampiric short swords

Update: I now use almost all the time a Lit II rapier and an epic small blade
for DR needs I switch to a Min II rapier and an epic small blade.

For skellies and other blunt needs I use a pair of triple Pos morning stars

Somewhere here on the forums someone posted a test showing that a Lit II and an epic small blade was slightly better then 2 Lit IIs and much cheaper if you managed to get a small blade.

I appreciate the update very much, especially with the original quote so I knew what to remove.

Also, I am wondering how popular the Epee is nowadays.

And to add something substancial: Disruptors are used pretty frequently by Meinir atm. They helped a lot in a few Litany runs, for example.

Now I find myself switching between a Lit II rapier and epic small and a Rad II rapier with the envenomed short sword.

Not sure where I am going to fit in the epic midnight greetings I am hoping to craft soon. Or what to pair it with.

If there's enough dps for others to hold aggro (including SB IV + Tharne's), dual LitIIs.

    If there isn't, dual RadII's.

    Rapiers.

I generally use a RAD II rapier paired with a Tier II Epic SmallBlade.

I ran out of time before I could craft Tier III on it so it does not have the Corrisive Salt or Red Augment slot.

    Human Assassin

I use a Rad II Rapier + Lit II Rapier for general trash

or Rad II + Icy Burst Banishing Rapier where banishing works.

rapiers - rad II paired with lit II. A bit of blind, a bit of zap. Seems a good combo.

Min II/Holy silver rapier set for DR bypass

various situational weapon sets such as banishers (/sadface for the rapier banisher nerf), and festival frostburst greater elemental banes to deal with those pesky things that don't like to be backstabbed.
