Default [IDEA] New PRE auras for Sorc/Fav

Palemaster currently has the option to cast an aura that does neg energy damage as a spell (which for a palemaster should just be a spell like toggle that they get at 18), so why not make something of the sort for savant pre's?
An idea that popped into mind was:

Earth savant at 20 gets a toggle "Cloudkill" aura with 1 min recast time for 4-6 enhancment points at lvl 20, having the aura lowers your con by 2, but gives you a +2 to conjuration

Fire savant at 20 gets a "Flame aura" toggle that has a chance to hit attackers (along the lines of flame elementals, but with much higher dc) lowers str by 2, but raises evocation +2 levels/enhancements) for 4-6 enhancment points at lvl 20

Water savant gets at 20 an "Ice guard" toggle that has a chance to freeze attackers when hit (something not lame, like a 10% chance or higher), with dc same as above. Could give -2 to str, but +2 to either evo whatever ice uses.

Air savant gets at 20 a lightning storm toggle (like the crappy half elf dragonmark), scales with level, and costs 5-10 sp every time it hits an enemy. no neg stat since it takes away mana. +1 to evo.

For Favoured something along the lines of a Lionheart effect toggle so when you hit, or are hit enemies cower in your presence and take -2 or more to attacks, rolls, skills, etc.

This is just an idea that was rolling around with those few marbles I got left. Yay or nay

Or have the aura do "elemental healing" to the sorc?

to keep people quiet about the spell nerfs for one. Secondly it will make the pre lines more appealing to reach ala a full 20 sorc/favoured as opposed to multiclasses. You can still have fun with it, but new people will see the lvl 20 candy and reach for a pure 20.

favored soul already has a massive incentive to go to 20. DR and free spells = awesome.

sorcerer capstone is admittedly not as useful outside of a narrow situation as i might wish, but it is in fact quite good for what it does (i just wish there was a capstone for a sorcerer that didn't add only to nuking. a simple +2 cha added on would be extremely welcome!)

I was going to say, why not make them capstones that require the pre.

I think Henrieta's idea would be good to have on the pre as it stands. Instead of getting basic elemental resistance boosting, get elemental healing.

But I think all pre's should come with a capstone option.

Rather than the idea in the OP, I think replacing the curse with (Air Guard/Earth Grab Guard/Freezing Ice Guard/
Magma Surge Guard) might be more balanced. I've not played PnP since AD&D so my knowledge of what the PRE
    provides in PNP is nil.

I have been thinking about something like this:

Instead of having a possibly OP curse that a Savant has to reapply every so often with SP, they should have a lesser version of the curse that gets automatically applied every so often to anything in their field of vision with a range and width similar (if not a bit bigger than) a Cone of Cold. This would be similar to a gaze attack (in fact this could be called Icy Stare or something for the Ice Savant). It would tick about as often as a paladin aura, with each tick adding maybe a 5% increasing susceptibility to all targets in line of sight. The max damage multiplier would probably be capped at 50% since there is no SP investment instead of 75% as the current curses allow, but it would gather the damage more quickly and be more useful on general trash, while lowering the max DPS which may be a bit much on bosses.

    Discuss please.

Actually, I like this idea better since the code is already out there and more probably more balanced than the OP's.

FvS don't need any more incentive to get to 20 though.

As long as earth savants get the medusa's stare, I'm all for it.
