    Unhappy COMPLAINT on POINTS PURCHASE

    Hi:

I used an "Ultimate Game Card" yesterday to purchase some points. The game card was worth $20. When I redeemed the code I received 1300 points.

The store clearly offers 1600 points for $19.99; am I not eligible for this same opportunity even though I paid the same amount?

I'm a little upset, I would like someone to hopefully fix this. I do feel that I deserve the same amount of points since I paid the amount required; not 300 points less.

I hope this is an error and can be fixed.

    John

How many points does it say you will get on the game card?

The "ultimate game card" does not state how many points it offers. It is simply a $20 card used to redeem for many different games. I looked on thier website at www.ultimategamecard.com and they support DDO as a game to redeem thier code but don't offer specifics.

It was very simple to use this gamecard and it certainly looks like it's widely accepted as a method of payment. When going through the DDO store I chose to "redeem code" and it showed only three methods of cards to redeem one of the three was the ultimate game card. So assumably, the ultimate game card has or is well accepted by the DDO store.

I find it unfair and peculiar that using this game card that is well accepted by the DDO store would not give me 1600 pts. Money is money...

I paid $20 and I would like the same deal that is offered when purchasing 1250 points +350 bonus points for $19.99. It makes no sense why I would only get 1300 points.

I looked at the store and it does not state that using a $20 game card will exclude you from the bonus points.

Hopefully this is simply an error but I'd still believe I'm owed 300pts.

I hate to say it but it probably isn't a bug. When I went to Gamestop to check out the DDO points cards, they also were worse deals than buying points straight from the DDO store. I wouldn't expect generic brand cards to be any better.

Bumping your own thread without adding anything is not permitted on the forums, just letting you know so you don't end up getting in trouble in the future.

Of course my reply also gives you a free push upwards.

Well this experience is certainly convincing me not want to ever spend another dollar on the game. I cerrtainly don't think I have an unreasonable gripe and having to resort to a public forums to get my concerns addressed by customer service is complete BS.

so send an email to cust support.

you purchased a game card from a third party, not tp from ddo. why would you expect the amount to be the same?
doesn't the third party game card seller make some $$$$ off of you for supplying a service?

next time buy them directly from DDO store.

THE ULTIMATE GAME CARD IS SHOWN AS AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF PAYMENT ON THE DDO STORE.

There is nothing in the store that states you won't get the same deal or another deal based on your payment method.

$19.99 gets you 1250points plus a 350 point bonus which equals 1600 points.

I paid for a $20 card and got 1300 points.

There is nothing that states the preferable method of payment in order to get the 1250+350=1600points.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NO PROBLEM, I won't spend any more time on this BS.

I can play the game for free or simply move onto another game. I'm certainly more inclined to do so now having to explain and explain and explain when I should have just been happy to get the points ADVERTISED IN THE STORE FOR $20

If you mised it, I said I DON'T have a credit card and my town does not have any other option to pay except the ultimate game card. So being SCREWED by this method of payment I'll just decline to make any other purchases.

Different purchase methods do offer different deals through the DDO store.

If you are interested in purchasing points with a credit card (or receiving the same pricing options), but don't have one, you may find some valuable information in this sticky.

I got screwed over the same way a couple of months ago. You'll never get your points. But I'm with you, I'll never give Turbine another cent. Asked my mom's attornies to look into what looks to me like nothing less than duplicitous advertising, but that's not really their field. Maybe that should be revisited.

I feel your pain i cant get ddo cards in my country either, was told they will only sell in the US, also you might want to note...

When you buy an ultimate game card turbine only gets about $14 to $16 dollars for every $20 card you buy so them giving you 1300 points is pretty good.

if you want to get the full bonuses of point purchase get a PayPal account. Its free, you dont need a credit card to put money into it there are other methods to load the account. I do online surveys to pay for my gaming habit and its been working well so far.

lots of other options available so dont sell yourself short.

I know! I really do feel bad for the poor overworked Point Miners who toil and delve every day to dig those precious, precious Points from the stony ground. I've also heard that the Peruvian Point Pickers have to put in 30-hour days just to keep up with the demand.

Am I only the only one who thinks your getting angry at the wrong company? I dunno who makes these "Ultimate Game cards" but its them you should be contacting not Turbine.

It's like if you bought a car from some guy down the street than went and complained to the original manufacturer (lets say Honda) that it has some defects, scratches, bad brakes or w/e and expected them to fix it.

To say that you won't be spending anymore money on Turbine's game because another company may or may not have screwed up is well frankly juvenile and sounds like just an attention grab.

Also I'm pretty sure Turbine probably loses a chunk of what they would usually make off of a straight DDO Store purchase of points so maybe next time you'll buy direct like a normal person.

Hey person who neg repped me for this post...you obviously disagree with me and instead of misusing the rep system why don't you try actually responding and voicing your reasoning for disagreeing.

QFT. Turbine is a business, and so is the company that sells the UGC. They both need to profit.
