I need some help understanding someones build..

Can you call your ranger any better in all honesty? Maybe it was the raid that I was in, but I healed an epic chrono of yours not too long ago. You seem like a nice person, but overall the entire group was lacking a huge oomph of DPS and experience, but you seemed to be under a different impression. When the melee favored soul has to turn off power attack because he's afraid of stealing aggro from the silly Arcane Archer tank, you know something is up. I wasn't going to say anything and call you out because you seem nice, but I have very much the same impression of your build as you do of his.

I don't see the huge difference between your AA build and his. You have about 60 more HP, but are in similar gear to him. Event epics != real epics, and while they are nice stepping stone for better epics, they are really just a stepping stone. Your DPS is probably similar just because you never put down the pew pew as far as I saw.

Obviously this player is new to epics yes, but his build isn't so bad, just a bit undergeared and probably this guy's first character. Sure, he may say he's done tons and tons of epics, but who cares really? I personally think it's slightly hypocritical to turn down builds that are very similar in power and gear to yours for raids.

Now if you actually pointed out the reason I asked for power attack to be turned off was because I was self healing a lot and couldn't attack + heal at the same time this becomes a different story doesn't it. The raid had 4 first timers in it and that was clear as they where described what to do as we went through, one of the healers didn't say he was a first timer and caused trouble.

I also have 80 more hp than him and I am not a mellee character, and yes I do mellee if I need to single target if it is viable to or on vorpal trash... still 342hp come on seriously come on!

1 life elven tempest, has event epics and a greensteel scim and an event scim

How can this character survive echrono and epic devil assualt more than a few seconds even with a good caster.

I confronted him and he said I have been playing for 5 years I have run more epics than you will in the next year, but I cannot feasibly see how someone with a base 30 reflex save 42ac and 342hp can.

Please help, I really really cannot see this.

Many aspects of player skill cannot be quantified.

Flip side of that coin: an uber build piloted by an unskilled player is a gimp.

Couldn't agree more.

But a terrible build(30str/32dex) and a good player doesn't change anything. If you cant hit anything then what good are you as a melee? Those stats are good non-epic. Those stats = Power Attack off most of the time(in epics). But I dont ask people why they did what they did with their character. Let them do what they want. I choose to avoid them.

so base 14con seems reasonable to me remember this is a elf here 16 would be madness
while 350 does sound on the low side to me just trow on a madstone and yugo pot and your around 420 what i found low was his dex only 32 seems a elf with dex as highest should have either 32 32 or dex at around 34-38

Btw someone said the epic items from the events != real epic items, if they give the right stats in the right places they are the right items, but they do not and cannot make up for the rest of your set being ****, I do use the ring and gloves on 2 characters I don't on a third.

I do use the trinkets situationally they are okay toys to slot sometimes, the event armour is some of the best armour for defence in the game so I use that on the tempest, however if you don't have your epic items slotted and the rest of your items are cheap ass blindess ward goggles, half finished greensteel and non epic fens items then, yeah I am going to struggle to work out how you can survive.

My question to you OP is why don't you have any public characters for us to look at? If you are good enough to pick apart someones build, you should show us your toons

Sounds like Boldrin just wants an excuse to show you his.

Player skill makes up for a lot of things, but especially HP. My archer is pretty gimpy at about 370 HP fully buffed, and can get by, and I'm only a mediocre ranger player. My wizard, during her first life, got through the toughest epics before they got nerfed, most of the time without dying, with 280 buffed HP.

It wouldn't make you feel superior or tickle your ego, but maybe you could pass on a little bit of advice to players with such low hp or other "noob mistakes".

We did that with a Sorc in a VoD...bad reception but it was funny.

I sent a mail to someone after checking them out on MYDDO to help with feats and a few weeks later they have another 100hp and are posting lfms.

I'd hate to be a newb these days.
