For some time now, I've been trying to emulate the behavior of some of the better players on Sarlona - namely, when putting up an LFM for a quest or raid, I accept the first people who click regardless of their build (or to my embarrasment, their level).
It was pretty easy to run raids like the Reaver's Fate (added "Roll for role") and the Twilight Forge, but when it came to raids like the Shroud, DQ, VoD, Hound, or ToD I was more hesitant as success/failure was less under my control, and more reliant on the luck of the draw. If I got competent people who knew what they were doing, I'd succeed... if not, I'd fail.
Recently, I've proven to my satisfaction that Stryde has what it takes to solo the Elite Demon Queen... now that I've got alt accounts that own the Desert pack, I've started running it more often to get them the different gear that they "need".
It's more fun to run with friends, however. I've been running with various members of the Defense Guild, and I've decided to start posting an LFM while getting my toons flagged in the AtDQ. I'm not up to dual-boxing 2 different instances of AtDQ, but if you have already gotten flagged just watch for my LFMs.
It's likely that most of the people reading this thread already run it frequently on Epic. If, however, you are interested in a more chaotic version of Elite, here's how I plan to do it.
1. Collect the gnoll aggro with ranged.
2. Bring the DQ back to the middle with manyshot.
3. Stand in the middle and beat her up.
4. When Efreeti spawn, ignore them until she leaves the platform.
5. Profit!
This is not to say that you have to do it my way. If you want to kite her through blade barriers, go for it. If you want to kite her around with your bow, you have my blessings. If you want to melee her, intimdiate her, nuke her with spells, etc... I encourage you to have fun. Just don't try to grief the group, and I'm good.
BYOH: I'll use the healing aura and burst from time to time, but other than that you're on your own. If you die, I'll try to throw you a raise if I get the chance.
YLYC: Your Loot Your Choice. If you want to sell the torc that just dropped for you, great! If you want to put up the green blade for roll only for rogues, it's yours to do with as you please. However, the "Your" in YLYC refers to the person who the item dropped for. If it is transfered to you, you must abide by the rule chosen by the original owner. This means you can't proxy roll, or sell an item after it is transfered to you.
If you want to sell it to a bartender, though, how would we ever know?
pikers welcome: If you don't know the raid, and just want some exposure to it, feel free to pike it as a soulstone. I'll probably have a few pikers of my own in there, so don't feel guilty. Just let me know that you want to pike it, so I don't end up getting myself killed trying to raise you
leaving in 10: I hate waiting. I'll update the LFM as I get closer to completing the AtDQ, but I'm not going to wait for a full group, X casters, or Y healers. We'll go with what we get. If you want to come along (and you've already completed the AtDQ) I don't mind extending the wait to accomodate you - within reason of course.
I expect a lot of people reading the Social Panel to scoff at my LFM, and even some to send me ridiculing (or legitimate) tells. I just wanted to make this post to give them something to read instead of trying to type it all out for each person
Not going to set a schedule, but I tend to play after 8:30 Mountain Time (as that's when the kids go to bed). If I was going to set a schedule, though, I'd pick every Monday and Thursday night...
Edit: To avoid the inevitable confusion that I experience trying to juggle 2 different groups, I've decided to pre-flag Stryde and have him hold the raid group while Wansfell runs the AtDQ. If someone needs the AtDQ, I'll drop them from the raid group and invite them with Wansfell. Once the timer hits zero, Wansfell can drop the queen and everyone recall to join the raid group.
