Default Spell casting DPS chart for U9

Alright, so here's a google-doc of mine and Aaxeyu's spell calculator.
Take note, that it's version 0.9, so mistakes might (and probably will) exist, so if you find any inaccuracies please let us know.

Niac's biting cold base damage is assumed as 1d6+26 = 29,5 average damage, and over 100 seconds that will be 10 seconds of 1 stack, 10 seconds of 2 stacks, and 80 seconds of 3 stacks = 10*1+10*2+80*3=270/100=2,7=29,5*2.7= our average damage.

Mobs are assumed at 50 cold resistance, and 5 curses are present in these calculations.

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...UE&hl=en#gid=0

    Cycle 1:
    196,000 total dmg
    1961 DPS

    Cycle 2:
    162,000 total dmg
    1620 DPS

    Cycle 3:
    115,000 total dmg
    1150 DPS

EDIT: There are some confirmed mistakes in this chart, and they are being fixed. Working on an update that will be much more accurate and will reflect an actual ingame scenario rather than one striving for max DPS.

For comparison, here is a melee DPS chart: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=299620

And here is data on some raid bosses HP: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=249728

Polar Ray cost has been bumped up to 20 as of the latest U9 patch notes, the chart still has it at 15.

I'm, still perusing, but that just hit me right off the bat.

EDIT: You're also not adding in any cost for maximize spell. The epic Ornamental Dagger is now exclusive so Maximize cost should be added back in for some of the time frame.

I would also like to see the timing of the spell cycles with clickies included, that would be great.

My sorc can't be copied to test atm so I can't really play with the gear and spells

EDIT 2: That was a fast correction to the chart, Polar Ray cost is now correct!

Thanks for the feedback on polar ray, fixed.
2 charges from abbot necky, 3 from dagger = 100 seconds. Of course that means a little less dps, due to activations.

Yea, might be worth removing 5-10 spells from hte cycles to get in 10 seconds of free time to cast clickies / move / lag / etc.

Question: You have the 5 curses applied for the entire 100 seconds?

If so, isn't that a bit unrealistic? Unless groups were built and planned for just such a scenario.

If the curses are what is making the Savant damage so overwhelming, then the fix is to adjust the curse so that 5 cannot be applied instantly. I believe the idea is that a Savant has 100 seconds to specifically weaken their foe to their chosen element they should severely weaken the targets defenses against said element.

This is why I didn't want the spell pass to occur at the same time as the Savant lines, epic reboot and crafting all together. It's too much for Turbine to properly over-see and too much for the community to fully exploit on Lam in one update cycle.

Can you do a chart without the curses, or with the curses being applied over the proper period of 100 seconds? I believe that the Savant DPS will be more in line when viewed in such a way.

Since this is raid boss dps calculator (I think so), saves are a bit too low I think, especially for frost lance - it targets fort save, which is more difficult to debuff on purple named than reflex.

Adding option to distinct fort saves and ref saves for the same calculation would be great

    Great work, as usual

Sec, chaning curses to 1 applied.
This chart was assuming 5 cold savants (which will be quite common come U9). But changed it so that you can see how brutal it is even without them.

Sorry for butting in, I hadn't posted in the previous thread, but have read over them and had a couple of questions about the chart.

    1. Why are you assuming lesser maximize is applied for the whole duration?
I thought the only the Ornamental Dagger gave that and it's no longer the case where people can have it going constantly. Even if it was it doesn't include the people who didn't spend the whole event farming them. If someone didn't have that it would increase the cost on cycle 1 by 1850sp, cycle 2 by 725sp, and cycle 3 by 100sp.

    2. Can anyone actually get the sp needed to pull off the entirety of cycle 1?
My sorcerer when capped had barely over 3000sp and that cycle need almost 4000 with the assumption that maximize doesn't increase costs and nearly 6000 if it does increase costs.

EDIT: Nevermind question 1, it was answered while I was posting.

That's a really good suggestion, gonna fix that when we have time.

Yeah I think the cycles, with clickie activation, will not be as smooth in practice.

I wish I could copy my sorc over I would run some real world cycle tests, and I always forget the Abbot clickie as I can never seem to get anything to drop for me in that raid.

It's not unrealistic if you consider how players really tend to play flavour of the months builds, if nothing changes from lammania we will most likelt see alot more sorcs, as they simply make the current highest DPS builds look silly in comparison.

The importance is not getting off the whole cycle for cycle 1. It's getting top DPS.
If you look at the total damage you'll see that even if you only have 3000 sp, you'll still do well over 150 000 damage, which is like arraetrikos part 5, solo.

    Awesome, thanks!

So with 1 curse your looking at 729 dps, that is good damage at the risk of obtaining agro and fits the Savant mold fairly well I'd say.

I think the chart is awesome btw, great work.

The save numbers probably need some tweaking as another poster pointed out, and I think that overall DPS will be a bit lower.

I understand what you are saying about having 5 Water Savants in a group, and obviously the curse would need adjustments to compensate for that. Otherwise you'd have a raid boss eliminated in 30 seconds, nevermind 100.

Indeed. But be careful when saying that, or you will have a horde of trolls calling you a "jealous melee that want the game to be turned into WOW".

Nice chart. Curious, though....is the cool down timer on polar ray not 6 sec?

Six seconds for Wizards, supposed to be 3 for sorcs according to description, but says 4 when cast but seems to be between 3.6-3.8 in practice.

No worries! And thanks a lot.

Yup, 729 dps using the low-sp cost cycle will be really nice. Can keep it up for 500ish seconds and won't take aggro with it (assuming subtle spell casting enhancements).

Yea, the saves might a bit low, tried increasing them to 100 (ie, 5% success rate for all save spells) and the dps only dropped by a few hundreds. Polar ray, ice storm and biting cold has got so nice damage.

And yea, the curse needs to be adjusted. Honestly, I'd rather see the tier 3 ability on teir 2, and a new tier 3 ability making half the damage epic. That way fire would be useful, and the savants would get that much more damage.

    Fun fact:
    12 sorcerers, cycle 1, 5 curses:
    1962*12=23,500 DPS = 14 seconds for arraetrikos part 5 elite. (330,000 hp)
