Default Bow of Sinew stack with Mountain stance III/IV?

NEW (Lammania Only): The Bow of Sinew now grants players an effect called Elasticity, which adds a +1 to a player's critical multiplier on a roll of 19 or 20. This effect replaces the Ranged Alacrity 10% effect on the item.

NEW: Mountain Stance III and IV now also increase the critical multiplier of monk weapons (and unarmed combat) by 1 on rolled of a natural 19 or 20.

I can take zen archery and sit in Mountain stance with Bow of Sinew. Do I then get +2 to crit multiplier?

Like most things, they probably don't stack. But maybe someone will test this.

    They do indeed stack

I reran the chain and pulled a new bow.

1d8 Bow + 6 Damage + 10 Seeker should cap out at 96, I've been seeing numbers above 100 on crits testing with this. which is within the range of 85-120 of a 5x multiplier

Sounds like it will work with Sniper Shot as well. It looks like the Deepwood Sniper prestige may gain a few more users too.

I'm partial for Half-Elf for the flexibility in enhancements though Elf works as well if you want the extra damage enhancements

    Sure, you update the post...

I'd only do 12 Monk, you'd get more taking Ranger to at least 8 (Longer Ram's, 20 point resists) or taking 2 fighter levels for feats

Maybe, but on the whole AA is more useful than DWS

I would be interested to try this out... Hmm... Without an improved precise shot not much fun.

I've posted and commented on Half-Elf Monk/Ranger combinations many times in the past, posted builds and listed feats... but in essence, you either go Ranger11/Monk9 or Monk12/Ranger6/Fighter2 for the sheer amount of necessary feats for both full TWF Melee and IPS/Manyshot driven archery.

Anyways... moving swiftly on to some other ideas...

Monk14/Rogue6 build has some potential for Rahls Might being a Two-Handed Heavy Pick in essence along with Ninja-Spy2/Thief-Acrobat1. Lots of potential for High AC, High Sneak Attack damage, trapsmithing etc. Dropping Ninja-Spy for Shintao would also allow for some potent self-healing when soloing. Half-Elf would benefit this build as well for dual Bluff timers. Monk13/Rogue 7 would allow Haste Boost 3 as well...

Monk14/Paladin6 build also has some potential for TWF dual wield Dream Edges on top Divine Sacrifice. x5 Crits? Yes please. I like this idea further due to Dream Edges being aligned and the sheer possible variety of effects they can have.

However, with the enormous ramifications of possible builds, I already smell a nerf in that this will be changed to:

    Mountain Stance 3 = +1 Crit Multiplier on 20
    Mountain Stance 4 = +1 Crit Multiplier on a 19-20.

Mountain Stance 3 is alot easier to get and exploit in these builds, as most races can start with Con 14 and get a +2 tome to hit the Mountain Stance 3 requirement, and it only needs 12 Monk levels to get the enhancement...

I will wait for release and see whats made it to live before making any further plans.

There are plenty of level 12 multiclass options as powerful (considering the options for monk weapons) and it's an excellent asset to DDO. I would be very disappointed to see this nerf.

I generally try to avoid a build that hinges on one aspect of something to be really awesome... way way too susceptible to change. The more heavily it relies on one or two things, the more likely minor changes to the game will 'screw' up the build.
