NEW: The Ornamental Dagger is now exclusive. Players who have several of these items in their inventories will find them drained off all charges when equipped (and after resting.) This can be averted if players place the extra daggers into their banks.

The only surprising part to me is how long it took them to fix this.

I only made this thread because Unreliable made like 9,001 daggers for his 2 casters.

Tell me about it. Was there not a huge thread about this very thing when the event was previewed? I can't imagine their internal play testers did not mention the same thing either. And that is leaving out that the developers actually use their own judgemnt when looking at items upon being developed.

The event gear was good, but only in a few cases would players be at an extreme disadvantage for missing out. One of those cases was new casters hitting 20 and not having 10 or 15 of these daggers, and I'm glad to see it fixed. The other massive power up item is the Greater Gem of Ocean's Winds, but honestly it's probably better for new players that they not pike their way through the harbor following an Air Elemental around.

I debated whether or not to grind out more than one of those in CC. In the end I thought, "Yeah, this is too good to be true, will get nerfed soon." so I bought stacks and stacks of fog pots to chuck at stuff :P

I "only" made three.
I guess it's fair. Having three minutes of free maximize on raid boss beat-downs was a bit over-powered.

I do wish that developers would see the obvious before people grind for things, though.

I can imagine the conversation:

"Let's make a dagger with a clicky that gives three 20 second clicks of free maximize."

"Should we make it exclusive?"

"Nah. Who would bother to make multiples of that?"

"By the way, what about the possibility people selling items they buy with left over coins for platinum and getting instantly rich?"

"Do you really think it will occur to them?"



P.S. It's still a great weapon and took very little effort to "grind".
