Default VON - after re-flag issue

Wel, until now I though one of my main toon wasn't flagged to VON, so last night I decided flag it to start some raid loot hunt.

I tried talk with Malek (quest giver) and I saw that nothing happen, so I though "wow, I'm flaged already", so I tried to enter the raid and the guy on quest entrance, he didn't allow me enter on RAID.

After this I tried abandon all the quests and talk again with quest giver, but nothing changed.

So, as last tried I digited /quest completions and say me I already completed one time The Vault of Night.

Last time I did this quest was before the change of re-flag need, I did the quest when you need reflag to get access to raid, and now I cannont flag don't care what I do, so I cannot play with my main toon.

After saw this, tried a online support, but ticket was closed just with a message to me check the forums cause this is a know issue. I tried search on forum about this and don't found anything about, so anyone know where is the link about this problem to help me?

Never ever EVER talk to Malek again. ever.. he's the guy that screws up your flagging. ignore him completely.

Just talk to the von guy directly behind the bank. And talk to each individual quest giver for the 4 quests. run those. and go talk to the von guy behind the bank again.

    You should now be flagged.

lat least they pointed you to the forums instead of saying just bug report it.

Yea it's an annoying bug but has an easy work around:

    1. Abandon all your quests again. Vault storyarch + the 4 related flagging ones.
    2. NEVER TALK TO MAREK. EVER. He is not related to flagging, and infact the only thing he can do it cause bugs. He is merely a flavour npc, with some bad coding attached.
    3. Complete the 4 quests (Tharaask Arena, The Prisoner, Jungle of Khyber, Haywire)
    4. Be sure to get the related end rewards.
    5. Talk to Barrow D'Khundarak.
    6. You are flagged. Permanently.

    Complete the raid.
In the future, simply talk to Barrow again to get the quest again.

Never talk to marek. If you do he will sometimes break your quest log, and youll have to abandon it again... tho he cannot break your perma flagging.

Additional: Never accept a share for the raid. Won't work, just talk to barrow.

Yea they probably do have that wrote somewhere.

Problem is 99% of the GMs have never played DDO, and wouldn't have a clue on what exactly he's talking about to even find out the related fix for his issue.. So I guess them just saying check the forums is the best they can do.

    Thumbs up

Thanks for this thread. I had talked to Malek on several characters and screwed things up.

Then I abandoned quests and just started re-running them after speaking with Barrow hoping it would re-set. Been slow to finish the process though , glad to know it will work.

It should work. after the 3rd time thru reflagging a character that was in completions when they made the change...
I finally skipped mareck and it finally worked right..

    That guy should be deleted.

Same exact thing happened to me last week. I had been flagged for the VoN raid and I did an eVoN Dragon run a couple of weeks ago. I knew that you didn't need to reflag each time anymore so I joined a eVoN run only to find that I could't retake the quest. All the flagging quests givers had the golden challace above their head, but my quest log said I had done them.

I filled a ticket and when the GM finally contacted me he said it is a nnown issue and I had to run the flagging quests again. This has been a known issue for 3 years apperently, according to the GM. The GM was insistant that he couldn't assist me and so I just reran the flagging quests.

eh not quite, the issue appeared in update 3 when the perma flagging was put in. So a little over a year.

    The reason for it:
Instead of doing the most logical and sane thing of simply removing the old flaging system, and putting in a new one.. They left the old one in too, and put the new one in too, and offered no clear indication which is which.

    Marek = Old system.

I believe what happens is this:
Marek tells you all about the quests, then you went ot do them. Makes sense to you, yet the devs somehow figured youd go above and beyond that..

Because even tho he told you about the quest, and seemed like you had it.. You actaully never picked up the quest before you did it. To do that you have to talk to the individual quest givers.. had you done, that whataever marek screws up wouldnt case you to do need to redo the quest.. perhaps just abandon his chain, then talk to barrow at most. The quest givers would show a blue icon above their head, indicating the quest was done but repeatable if you did.

If I got this reply I would be happy, my reply was simple, as a person that has a great desire to help you, the worse is think that you pay for this person "work"...

Don't have time to do all quests yet, but will do ASAP...

I think this will solve my problem, as reported to Drakos. So, thank you for a better support than I had online.

Yeah, I totally understand your point. Some of the DM's are definatly better than some of the others.
