I'm actually very happy because I no longer need to carry it as a lvl 6 spell (it gives room for chain lightning).
I will probably stick with FtS until it is verified that instakill works on all non-bosses in Amrath, as well as the giants in Tor. These are the main reasons that I used it in the first place - it worked where Wail and FoD did not. With the longer cooldowns, I will still probably end up carrying both.

With web being nerfed to 30 seconds, and Flesh to stone lasting about 3 mins.. It's a bit superior for tod orthons.

Course they suicide after 1-2 mins ,but even then, its effective CC if you can land it easily. So for earth savants, yea probably a good way to go. For non earth savants, maybe some other combination of CC would be more effective.

Either way, CC is still often best on them, as there normal respawn rate is about 30 seconds, far shorter then if they were to suicide from being CCd too long.

I think the whole suicide because of being CC'd too long is a dumb mechanic tho, that could be removed for U9 in light of the spell changes.

Just beef up there hp, give them higher saves, a few more sr, epic-like neg lvl regeneration (1 per 15 seconds) and theyd be a good CC challenge.

Better yet.. Do the oposite: Softem em up a bit hp/saves/sr wise, but increase therer intensity.. EG: Deal more damage, and increase the limit on them from 6 to 12. That would really cause for some more advanced tactics to be needed to deal with em.
