Thumbs up Metamagic Feat Alternate costs

Just a thought on how to change metamagic feats and enhancements for the new Spell Pass. I know this subject has been posted about before and a few of the topics appear to be well thought out.

If I am not incorrect with my memory (as I am not a hard-core caster type in game, though I do have a couple.) the cost of spells are as listed below.

    Spell__Base
    Level__SP Cost
    1 ____ 10
    2 ____ 15
    3 ____ 20
    4 ____ 25
    5 ____ 30
    6 ____ 35
    7 ____ 40
    8 ____ 45
    9 ____ 50
**As you see each spell level's Tier increases the base cost by 5 SP.**

    Existing Metamagic___Proposed Metamagic
    Feat Costs:_________Feat Costs:
    Extend: +10sp______Extend: +1 SP Cost Tier (+5SP)
    Empower: +15sp____Empower: +2 SP Cost Tiers (+10SP)
    Maximize: +25sp____Maximize: +3 SP Cost Tiers (+15SP)
    Quicken: +10sp_____Quicken: +4 SP Cost Tiers (+20SP)
Heighten: ???_______Heighten: Casters Highest Spell Level Base Cost
    Enlarge: +10sp_____Enlarge: +1 SP Cost Tier (+5SP)

Metamagic enhancements could lower the cost by 1 Tier, but to no lower then +1 Tier
or based on the new SP costs leave them as is and its still a marginal increase to the base cost.

Used PHB 3.5 for the "+# SP Cost Tier" formula based on the feats text of Spell Levels Higher then base spell level. IE a 2nd level spell empowered takes a 4th level spell slot.

Well, you basically can't compare DDO to PnP anymore. Forget it.

If metamagics are going to change, I believe they will probably choose to make them add as a parcentage of the base spell cost instead of fixed values, making metamagic more balanced with the new costs. Maybe in Update 10, who knows..
