    Default Returning

I mentioned this in a bug report, but i would like to see people's reactions.

When you place a stack of throwing items (i used holy throwing axes) into the deconstructer, it does not even let you get that far, just giving you a warning that you cannot deconstruct that. I can sort of understand that, since the throwers would be much much cheeper to deconstruct then an actual battle axe of the same thing.

HOWEVER, when you toss a returning throwing item (+4 throwing dagger of returning) (or is it +4 returning throwing dagger, cant remember atm) it DOES let you put the item into the deconstructor.... however it dose NOT let you actually DO anything with it.

That means that you cannot deconstruct returning items, you cant remove the +, you cant remove the returning tag, or anything else it seems. It would also seem to be that you will not be able to ADD returning to an item.

Personally, i think that we need to allow crafting of returning throwing items. Currently, there are VERY few of some types while tons of others (how many returning throwing stars have you seen lately in chests/end rewards that were not named). I would LOVE to add banishing on a throwing star/dagger or some other useful effect, since curently if you want a good throwing weapon, you need to green steel one.

So everyone gets +5 metalline of pure good returning great axes? SWEET!

Seriously though, it's still new and partially untested and not complete yet either. I'm sure there may be some bugs but I would hope that returning would in fact be possible.

Metalline is a prefix so get's wiped on preparing the item.
And as of this time you can't craft metalline back on a item.

    Can add Aligned.

In that case grab a silver returning thrower and make +5 silver aligned returning thrower of bleed.

I want to craft a returning Khopesh.

Then you'll see Ranged DPS take a positive turn.

You just need the "Throw Anything" feat. (to do so without penalties, and yes that's really a pnp feat)

I think this could be because a returning thrower is considered a weapon whereas the stacks of non-returners are more like ammo.

What the hell are you doing? put that Halfling Down now!

That Dwarf over their will do more damage

To the point, returners always were buggy in crafting, you cant add force rutuals to them either. (or at least couldnt, and i havent tried for ages), then their was the GS thrower repair bug, but thats been sorted now.

Keep in mind, in order to throw something as a weapon, it can't weigh more than your light load.

This is exactly the reason. Up until recently you couldn't use returning weapons in the Risia altar either. I spoke with a GM about this and it was eventually adjusted. He explained that returning weapons are considered ammo. They probably made some minor adjustment to allow the use in the festival but it would probably require a more fundamental change to allow them to be crafted. Hopefully it will be added as it evolves.

I prefer Fling Ally, with the party's gnomish monk wild-shaped into something colossal mid-flight.

Player: 'If I grab the dwarf and swing him at the giant. How much damage do I do if I hit?'
Me: 'Are you using the dwarf one handed or two handed?'

The dwarf in question was currently unconscious and had a great axe of giant slaying in a locked gauntlet. He was not amused.

Did the axe hit the dwarf?
