    Default Well I think it's quite apparent.....

    ......one of the reasons why the removed auto-crit from helpless.......have you seen the new crafting!?

    Could you imagine some enchantment/necro specc'ed PM running around dual wielding a +5 greater enchantment focus heavy pick of life stealing in one hand and a +5 holy heavy pick of life stealing in the other.

    Every melee in the game would be a dwarven ranger tempest and have two heavy picks....all other weapons would be obsolete....yeah....I can definitely see why they did it more and more now.

    Yeah...the more and more I think about it, the more I feel it's in the best interest of the robustness of the game. As much as I will miss the auto-crit on my Monk (low STR, high DEX), this game is more than about me ...and I want it to thrive.

    On a similar note, has anyone discovered whether or not the 50% bonus to damage on helpless states is supposed/not supposed to apply to Sneak Attack?

    A while back, Eladrin mentioned in a post in the specialist forums that the 50% bonus to damage was supposed to apply to sneak attack, so presumably it's currently bugged.

    I think in that same post, he acknowledged that this would boost rogue DPS even more against trash, which was a dangerous proposition. Consequently, he was considering not doing that.

    I assume the current implementation reflects the result of this consideration.

    Be nice if he came out and said that though. I personally don't think it would overpower rogues.

    If SA does get the boost, it'll be good for Ninja Spy and will be a little help to Monks without the auto-crit from SF, especially with Brawlers Gloves.

    I'm cool if SA doesn't boost, but if this will be the case, they need to change the Release Notes to not say "All damage sources".

    and it's absurd reasoning. rogues deal a lot of damage. everyone else deals their normal damage times 1.5 vs helpless enemies. so should rogues. just like everyone else.

    if we're going to use that kind of ridiculous reasoning, then i guess my sorcerer deserves to deal 20 times damage to helpless mobs, because he really really sucks in melee, probably won't even be able to hit stuff, and deals pathetic damage if/when he does hit.

    I think so far no on the SA damage.....but it is the topic of much debate...I believe they are trying to find a way to fairly balance it in.

    can one craft Great Enchantment Focus on Lammania now or was it rather an example to emphasize your point?

    Thought it was only available on named items...

    If you take a look at one of the Llama crafting threads it has a list of a bunch of the effects available.....both lifestealing and greater enchantment focus were both visible in the actual crafting UI pics.....so yes it will be an option....that would be insanely overpowered and broken......they definitely had to change helpless to balance out the new crafting system, in fact I am guessing 65-80% if not more of the changes coming in U9 revolve around balancing because of the new crafting system.

    Depending on how hard it is to farm up crafting ingredients and getting crafting XP nice gear is gonna be much easier to obtain and way more powerful on average than it used to be.

    Dang u can get greater enchant focus crafting a weapon ???? And I had to make an epic to get greater enchant focus !! =( haha

    Your analysis is flawed, and if anything proves the ridiculousness of this nerf.

    They could have easily left stuns as is, while changing spells and in doing so avoided nerfing Monks

    Laugh - If you honestly think those would be the best weapons to craft to take advantage of current helplessness, then you are the one in bed. Good luck with that!

    Seriously, get over it already....what they changed the game and now you can't adapt so you have to come and give people a hard time....just like all the other grumps...whining because they will have to think for a change. Yeah I do spend a lot of time in bed...about 1/3 of my life....as your supposed to...sleeping.....maybe you should try it and you would be a bit more friendly.

    I really didn't mean just those weapons but the new crafting system in general is going to make an option for pretty powerful gear.

    And for the other reply to me....if you can't handle my colored writing put me on block and move on...sorry I like my world to remain in color.

    Explain to me how in the crafting system you can create a weapon that beat on stunned with the old systeam a lit 2 heavy pick. Just explain it to me.

    Actually the problem is slimkj....is that some people don't wanna do any of the changing on their end of things

    Another neat trick is simply pressing cntrl-a....which will highlight the whole page........that's what I did when we were getting those DEV clues that were in black font color.
