    Default Potency Vs Any

I feel like I'm missing something here but it seems that there is no downside for a potency item vs. a specific version. Is the +X that they add to the weapon higher? Is the % typically lower? I assume they cost more b/c they're simply better, but I can't see why I don't just pick up Potency/Efficacy items and forget the rest ...

potency is higher ml. iirc sup pot 6 is ml 12 and you can find sup combustion weapons 2 levels earlier. maybe 14 for pot and 12 for combustion

also there are sup combustion etc items that go up to 8 but potency stops at 6

finally, with clickies, if you find a sup freeze/spark etc it goes to 75%, but sup efficacy only goes to 50

Mostly this. The clickie versions give 15% per tier, rather than 10%. So where Greater Potency is 40% and Superior Potency is 50%, Greater Inferno is 60%, and Superior Inferno is 75%.

The descriptions on the clickies also don't mention that they have a better effect unless they fixed it recently and didn't mention it.

Last I read one, it still said the same thing as before.

I tend to not read those descriptions for the most part because I haven't read anything about the description or effect changing and I know it is better.

Edit...Well hells bells. I accidentally posted in this forum area. I only picked it up from the new posts lists. My posting in this forum mess in no way signifies that I agree with the mess that the moderators created lumping all the different classes into three categories.

Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.

to the untyped damage spells potency/arcane lore are the only ones that can affect damage increase.

    blade barrier for example
