    Default number crunching please

Ok, so im not all that good at math. hate it actually. But i was wondering whether or not i should go through the extreme grind to get a normal SoS from VoN or stick with my tier 2 greensteel falchion that has shock and good burst on it. I know that there are some of you out there that love the number crunching, so i ask you this favor: tell me whether the SoS or my Falchion does more dps, and if the margin is large enough to warrant me grinding for the SoS.

P.s. I have imp. crit:slashing, and i usually can hit stuff on a 4 or above, but assume that i hit on a 2 in your calculations if you want. I also have 34 str, and have haste boost II, so throw that in there only if you feel like it.

    Math-fu activate!

Assume hit on 2, crit always confirm, all values are damage/hit

btw, by the time you can afford tier three upgrades, youll prob have enough small/med mats to make another falchion, if you do, holy/ burst >> element/good burst.

    Falchion, GS
    2d6+5+ 1d6 +1d6
    7x.65+ 14x.3+ 5x.65+ 10x.3+ 3.5 +3.5 + 10.5x.3
base damage- 25.15 (+1.25 times damage bonus)

    1x.65+2x.3= 1.25

    SoS
    2d6 +5 (15-20x3)
    7x.65 + 21x.3+ 5x.65+ 15x.3
base damage- 18.6 (+1.55 times damage bonus)

    1x.65+3x.3 = 1.55

you tier two is stronger unless your damage bonus is 22 or higher, in which case SoS normal pulls ahead

Going through the extreme grind of getting a normal SoS will eventually pay off when you get the Shard, Seal and Scroll for the Epic version, but your Lightning II Falchion (at least it will be LitII by the time you get your SoS) will be better than the non-epic SoS for almost everything.

Stille, I believe you have 60% non-crit instead of 65% non-crit, and the elemental burst formula for good burst - it should be 3d6 instead of 1d10. There are also glancing blows to consider but they are going to be very very very close to identical.

yeeep, though dont despair, its not toooo much worse on evil stuffs

    2d6+1d6/burst

    7x.95+ 3.5x.95 +5.5 x.3=11.625

    1d6+1d6/ gburst

    3.5x.95 +3.5x.95+ 10.5x.3= 9.8

    tis only 2 dmg

    but yeah holy/burst is better

Do any important bosses and mobs after the vale have high electrical resists tho? and will that nullify the dmg from my weapon if so?

    Lailat, the Demon Queen.

Youll want to make a mineral II anyway for hard/elite raids (use that on epic Lailat)

Very difficult to actually give you an output without all the input, though you could multiply your base damage (the number after your weapon dice) by Still's figures to see which is better.

The SoS gains more from increases to base damage (more Str, more things like the Claw set, etc...) and Seeker than the greensteel does. I'd bet the SoS pulls ahead of a tier II rather quickly. At about 70 base damage the two weapons are just about tied, and the SoS is ahead at 75 base damage. Damage reduction and fortification make this more complicated.
