In U9 it works by character level for the DC, not monk level. A Sustainable DC44 Stun looks VERY tempting.

Yes and No.
My clonk I'd need to actually do a LR on and not just a feat swap. Well, I could, but if I did I'd want the full TWF chain and I'm not running it right now and I'd need some DEX in addition to feat swaps. I'd been running w/ a staff for centered-use.
I'm definitely considering it, but there's a larger cost for me.
If I could put it in quickly, hellsyeah.

Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane
I've definitely been thinking about it, only my thought goes along this line.
"I wonder if they really think I'd be foolish enough to spend cash in order to take advantage of something that is clearly overpowered and will be nerfed after I include it in my build?"
Thanks, but no thanks. I've learned my lesson.

I have been thinking about it for my deep multiclass clonk. I previously hadn't considered it viable as I have dumped wis and will only have 6 or 7 monk levels (haven't quite capped yet and still cant decide). I'm still not 100% sure on how to calculate stunning fist DCs. If someone could look at my build
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=302688
and give their opinion of whether a decent DC would be achievable (and how) that would help a lot.
10 base + 10 level + 17 wisdom + 10 handwraps = 47 +3 racial? = 50
could be fun
Already got it on my clonk since i had a free feat respec token and nothing better to try it out on.. DC being linked to character level rather than monk level will make it potentially very useful, rather than a "cant hurt to give it a go".
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
What DC do you need for it to be viable in epic?
yes in U9 stunning fist will be character lvl, but there will be no autocrit when mobs are stunned. So i'm not sure it will be worth the investment in swapping out feats or LR'ing.
I'll be giving it a try. 18/2 FvS based with hvy casting and stunning fist is my current plan.
One monk level is enough - just have to take the feat as a monk feat.
I agree with many that its rediculous that a monk splash can get a better stunning fist DC than pure monks can now, especially because kensai can get an equally good stunning blow DC as well.
I think the 8 monk 12 fighter build is going to be alot more popular. Increased KI generation with power surge, 2 stun abilities, both boosted by Kensai tiers and fighter strategy / racial tactics.
Agreed. Even odder is that (in case you haven't been following some of the other clonk and solar phoenix threads) they're doing exactly the opposite for the light monk healing finisher, making it tied to monk level (as in description) rather than character level (as it's actually worked through at least 4 updates). I consider being able to stun an enemy considerably more powerful than a multiclass-based healing amp that costs you significantly on DPS - a stunned mob does no damage, so who cares about healing? - so I'd put my money on the nerf bat hitting this.
Oh, and if you're a Radiant Servant, watch out, you're probably next - your radiant burst heal is also calculated on character level rather than 'caster' level, contrary to description...
[Can you tell I'm p.o.'d they're killing my pallymonk solar phoenix? :-( ]
Are you kidding me? I’m considering a +3 Lesser heart on my pure cleric. (While I have some major issues about how U9 negatively affects my monk’s gameplay I *love* the fact that we now have the option of making a “Sacred Fist” build in DDO.)
I’m putting my money on “This puts a spotlight in the fact that monks are a DC dependant class and enhancements are added/changed to boost Monk DCs. And in the meantime Eladrin finally fires up Ron’s Character Generator, tries to make a human shintao monk and realizes ‘Woah... the players *are* right! We totally forgot to give them meaningful level 1 enhancements.’”

Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
- Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
- Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
- Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
- Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
- Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
