    Default TR'ed Firghter (Now needs help with making choice for 2nd Life)

    I have tred with Fighter 18/rogue2 - Killemalll (Orien)
    Now Which path Do i choose
    Kensai II / Tempest I / Rogue 2 or Kensai III / Rogue 2

    OK, let's try ....

    It's your final build or are you planning to TR again?

    Some comments:
    - you are taking 2 rogue levels: you should really max out UMD skill, on both builds;
    - 12 fighter - 6 ranger - 2 rogue: skill-wise, ranger and rogue blend quite well; you should be able to achieve full trap capability (i.e. maxed Search and Disable Device skills);
    - feat-wise, I guess you are going for DPS: you will want Power Attack; see below for suggestions on what to drop;
    - some non-optimal choices: Two Weapon Defense (both builds), Luck of Heroes (18/2) and Dodge (18/2);
    - as you pointed out, 12 fighter - 6 rangers - 2 rogue is more survivable and versatile.
    On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

    The answer is it depends. I can't run the numbers atm but my in terms of dps i would think their relative dps would depend on whether your fighting your favoured enemy, getting SA damage and ofc gear and buffs. In general i would say the monster variant would higher dps if your fighting your favoured enemy, but the 18/2 split may have slightly better all round dps.

    Not sure why you haven't maxed UMD on either build though. 5 and 6 points in umd isn't going to get you very far. The fighter past life feat seems kind of weak as does greater weapon focus on the monster variant, two weapon defence, luck of the heros, OTWF and dodge on the 18/2.

    I don't think i saw PA either; obviously this is a must if you want to do damage. Have you considered going half orc too for more dps?

    In terms of survivability the monster build is probably better in most circumstances, although i would have thought the 18/2 should have more hp with more fighter/ less ranger levels and more room for toughness feats and possibly enhancements. The added abilities that come with the monster build also make it more versatile imo as well.
