so ummm... quick question for anyone planning on being an earth savant...
what exactly *are* you going to do vs mobs with mantle of invulnerability? acid fog it to death? granted, meteor swarm is an earth spell (which several raid bosses will also be immune to half the damage of), but it doesn't benefit from the 19 points you've likely put into your acid spell base damage, crit chance, and crit multiplier lines. cloudkill also won't work on the boss, of course...
so, ummm... what's the plan? acid fog it to death? i'm sure it will only take a few hours to kill a boss with 2d6 damage per 2 seconds. look on the bright side, you're sure to have time to put your elemental weakness curse up to tier 5 on them.
i was just looking through, was feeling kinda tempted to make an earth savant at some point... and just couldn't help but notice that all of the prime DPS spells for earth savants (and no question those spells are looking nice) just so happen to be level 4 or lower... leaving you with not much for mantled bosses.
which is a real shame, because otherwise i'd be all over earth savant. it gets some great abilities. but not getting to benefit from your elemental curse on several raid bosses is kinda disappointing. i mean, it's not quite at the fire savant level of disappointing (greatest thing since sliced bread from levels 1-15, and then you get slapped in the face with a trout) where many end-game targets are immune to your element entirely, but... ouch. you guys could really use something level 5+ on your spell list.
